That's what I did earlier this year and it didn't help much.Originally posted by jadeHey Iapetus999,
I would really encourage you to take it in to a bike shop. Unless you really know bikes, they have so many suggestions. I know I've been in to my shop and just by lowering the handle bars I had a better ride. I wouldn't have noticed that myself. They have all sorts of little 'tricks' that they can do to help you have a better ride.
They would also be able to help you with the 'sore butt syndrome' but I'm thinking that you probably just need to 'break yourself in' for the cycling season. I go through that sore butt thing once a year. That's why this year I'm not going to stop riding. I figure if I keep riding year long, I won't have to go through that 'transition period'.
Hang in there!

I sorta haven't ridden much because of all the running/hiking training I'm doing.
I'll tinker with it & figure it out.

*That's got to be discouraging! I know that I am in the process of switching bike shops. The one I always frequented moved way out north of where I live. However, a new one opened a few blocks from where I live and one of the mechanics is from my old bike store. I've had nothing but great advice from them. I want them to stay in my neighborhood so I will continue to frequent their store.
Sorry they couldn't help you! Hang in there!
Be well-
