Good morning ladies and gent. Yesterday 2 miles, 1.5 hrs at the pool chasing my children, and yes 1 grueling hour of tae bo. Today 5 miles down and I will be taking the little guys to the pool again. Have a great day everyone.
Put me down for 6.2 miles this morning .. got up and hit the road at 6:30 since I have the day off .. Man alive it was humid, but I hit the 3.1 mile mark at 34 minutes which was pretty quick for me...
Have a great running day!! (and yes, Sarah, your speed WILL improve with persistence! Keep at it, girlie!) :icondance

Yes, that is my daughter (on the left) who will turn 21 in September. She is the sweetest daughter in the world!! ... As for me, thank you what a great way to make my day!! I'll be 50 in December! :yikes
After not running for three days (which was driving me nuts), I just went out early this morning and did 5 miles. I felt like crap (kinda lost control foodwise yesterday) but I feel better now. My time was 46:48 which was only 8 seconds off my best time. Now I really want to break the 45 minute barrier. Another 5 tomorrow and a long run on Saturday (10 again maybe?).
Jim
Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

Hey team!!! This morning I walked 2 miles. WALKED--you say with shock? Yes, so my body gave me a message this moring it stated clearly-- Hey chicky (yeah I know I am a texan and my body speaks like it is from jersey--go figure) YOU ARE NOT SUPERWOMAN!!!!-- I realized that just because I could run 5 miles, and do 2 miles w/ tae bo every other day, maybe doesn't mean that I should do that. Oh yeah and I added in running on Monday which I usually take off. I just got so excited that I could actually complete 5 miles that I didn't want to do anything less. Well for the rest of today I am just chasing kids and cleaning house. I will do 5 miles tomorrow. My schedule next week will be
Sun--Leisure run 2-5 whatever "feels" right
Mon-5 miles
Tues-no running Tae Bo
Wed-5 miles
Thurs-no running Tae Bo
Friday-5 miles
I am seriously considering cutting tae bo all together and just doing the ab exercises with some push-ups for arm strength. I just dread it and I get hyped about running, I want a program that keeps me motivated. I guess we will see what happens. ensive Sorry to be so wishy, washy, I am still trying to find what is just the right amount for me at this time without going overboard.
Good morning. I did my walk/run program this morning at 6:00 am. It was really cold, like..seeing your breath cold. At any rate, I was really struggling with my asthma this morning which I wasn't prepared for at all. It was weird. I don't know if it was the cold or allergies or a combination of both. Of course I didn't have my inhaler (dumb) 'cause I just haven't been using it. I still completed the 50 minute minutes running slower than usual but man, it was hard. Didn't like that at all! Have a great day.
texmom, I applaud you for listening to your body! Most of us get so enthusiastic (obsessed, really) about running that even when we SHOULD take it easier, we don't and we end up paying the price with overtraining injuries (I'm preaching to myself here...) Anyway, great job!! I know you'll get a regimen going that will work great for you!!
Diana, I'm sorry you had to battle the cold! Geesh, cold in June....what's that like? ensive Girlie, you take care of yourself so you don't end up sick .. use that inhaler and take it easy. ITS OKAY TO GO SLOW!!
I think that's the most important advice, peeps ... LISTEN TO YOUR BODY AT ALL TIMES. There is NO SHAME in slowing down, cutting back on time and/or miles. In fact, I've cut back on my weekly mileage a few times and it only serves to make me stronger. Believe that or not! I read somewhere that you should never EVER exceed 45 running miles in a week. Keep that in mind!!
Interval training 40 minutes did 2.9 miles and was running 13.30 minute miles thats 2 minutes faster then when I do my long runs But I like my long runs cause they don't feel like I am pushing like when I interval it's good for me though and spices things up a bit to get the weight moving and the legs slimming.

Finished up my 5 mile run this morning in my standard 50ish min. I am planning on purchasing a HRM next month and I can't wait to have more accurate times. I am very curious to see how the scale responds to my extra miles this week. I will let you guys know tomorrow.
Oh and thanks Betty for the 45 mile limit--I was planning on getting 50 next week and I am really glad you stopped me. :smackhead ROFLMAO!!!
