Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been around but I have been doing all my runs, swims, weights etc. I'm leaving this weekend for a big 4-5 week camping trip out to British Columbia. I live in Ontario so it's a biggie. I plan to continue my running while we're on the road. Have a great summer everyone and good luck to all those entering races! You're all amazing and inspire me soo much. See you in about a month!

Re: Cool Running for the week of 7/10/05

I ran 5 kms last night I have PMS really bad and felt like I was gunna die I surely hope it won't be like this tomorrow. Race day well not a race for me I just wanna prove to myself that I can do it, as I lose more weight the running will become more and more easy.

I am really hoping the run will be easier tomorrow cause I am sooo very tired from having PMS this is the worst time for my 10 days before TOM any suggestions I ahve been really sucking back the water today I don't wanna be lagging cause I am dehydrated, tomorrow is also supposed to rain so I'm not sure what I should do, do I need a coat, or what HELP!!!

I have my survival snacks ready to go sporting some mac nut and a power bar just in case. I hate those things but, in emergency it's better then nothing I suppose. I just wanna be prepared for anything. I think I will pick up some LC bread and make a sandwich for after slather it with mayo and have a yummy sandwich for after. I think I am ready I have to pack my bag tonight so I don't forget anythign I have to get up at 6:30 am so as not to get side stiches I will be eating and then off to run. This will be the earliest I have ever run.

So wish me Luck everyone I'll pray God gives me featherweight legs and lets me float along the course like the wind.

          Take care all

              Good luck Sarah!

I did 45 minutes on the elliptical today, the first 20 at a moderate pace and the last 25 I again alternated between 2 minutes intense, then 4 moderate.
Got my heart rate up to 157 - just couldn't get it any higher.

Did my at home workout my trainer gave me for the first time - lunges, pushups, bicep curls, rowing, rotations, bridges, abs - and let me tell you, it was extra super duper challenging because my 130lb Akita, Thunder thought it'd be fun to play with his Mom while she was on the floor! I got smooched, sat on , a squeaky shoved in my tummy, more smooches, nudged with his head, sat on again and then he decided to play tug of war with the towel I was working out on! I've never giggled so much while working out and the more I giggled, the sillier he got! Big goof!!

Yes it was a lot of fun! I don't think he went to the same personal training school as my regular trainer though! LOL!

Here's an older pic of my two babies - Thunder is in the front and Camey in the back.

Did 45 minutes on the elliptical again this morning and burned 549 calories. Since starting this alternating high intensity stuff, I poop out quicker, but even though it's only been a few days, I am able to go faster on the 2 minutes of intensity. From what I've read, you don't need to do as much when you do this type of training - and even though you don't burn as many calories overall as going longer at a moderate pace, you are apparently training your body to burn fat long after you've stopped?!

Oh and got my heart rate up to 164 during those high intensity spurts.

Take care all have a great day
