  • Soreness and Slim in 6

I started the Slim in 6 program yesterday, I thought that I had been doing a lot of excercise and was in pretty good shape, but that lady put me through my paces, BIG TIME! I am so sore today.

The program says that you should do the first week workout for 6 days. I want to do it, but I am scared that if I'm too sore I should give my body some time to recover. What do you guys think?

Do what you can and work thru it. The soreness will go away...eventually When your muscles get a bit more used to the workout you won't have to worry about it. Just do what you can, but if you "let your body recover" then you'll sort of be starting over again...and thus...be sore again. It's just a part of starting a work out regime. Good luck.

Yoly, try to keep doing it. But do not be in a hurry to move on to Ramp it up. Keep on doing start it up until you are comfortable to move on, you do not have to follow the exact days. It gets better, trust me. Then you move on to Rampit up and want to die again. But you will be ok. Take it as you can. Rest when you feel you need it, OK?? But do not give up!!

Honestly, you'll find that about 10 minutes into the workout your muscles really let go and the soreness goes away - of course it's in exchange for workout-tired- but really, it'll move that lactic acid and you'll feel better. You'll be amazed at how fast you get stronger with this. Honestly.

        Keep pressing play.

I know this is going to sound silly but this morning as I was getting dressed I realized that my legs were thinner. I know I've only done 2 workouts and today makes 3 but I could already tell a difference!

Thanks Brook, I was so excited about my results that the second I walked in through the door I got on my excercise clothes and did start it up again! I am glad too because I left the house and didn't walk back through the door until 10:30. I would have been way to tired to do anything then.

Thanks Barbde, I am super exited. I feel like I've finally found something that is working for my thighs. Those plies, lunges, squats all hurt like crazy. Like you said, the burn means it's working.

                            LOL, oh I can't wait.

Hey do you guys use the resistance bands or light weights. Right now I use mostly 2 pound weights and switch to 3 pound weights for my biceps. Do the resistance bands really make that much of a difference, should I go out and get some?

Honestly, I really like both and I switch back and forth between them all the time.

Now I know you all know I'm a huge BeachBody workout fan, but you have to know that when it comes to equipment I'm really, really picky.

As far as resistance bands go...they are *not* all the same. I've had pro-form, reebok, go-fit, TKO,

You don't want bands that have hooks or latches of some sort to attach them to the handles. Danskins, Go-Fit are prime examples of these. You're about guaranteed to get bruised or pinched by them and it really bites!! I've thrown away all of the ones I've had.

The ones that I think rock? ...LOLOL BeachBody's. And they're pretty reasonably priced. Quality wise, they're awesome. No pinching, no snapback bruising, to catching. The SPRI ones look promising, but as far as I can tell the bands only come as part of the big kit, and that makes them more expensive than BB's. TKO has some that also look like they'd work pretty well, but the ones I had weren't some of them. LOL

I find they provide different types of resistance, and I'm not really sure how to explain it! It's like the negative is tougher. Hopefully someone else will be along and maybe they can explain it better!?
