Re: Soreness and Slim in 6

Sounds like this slim in 6 program is grueling. Where can I get it? I'd like to introduce some new exercises, been doing Power 90 of the beachbody series, for awhile now, and getting bored of Tony!

You could also look on e-bay. I saw some listings for Turbo Jam on there. They appear to be reasonably priced, too.

Thanks. Day 2 was the worst one for me, I'm doing pretty good now. Not sore at all and am feeling in such great shape.

How many times do you plan on doing it this week, seeing as how it's your first one?

I commited to 4 days on the 6WEC and I finished that up on Wednesday, I am planning on excercising tonite but was really thinking of doing my WATP 3 miles, what do you guys think? Should I mix it up and take a bit of a rest with WATP or should I just keep going and do Start it Up?

I'm voting to keep on keeping on with the Si6. I know what it's done for me and I followed their recommendation for doing the program. If you need to take a break and do your WATP, then go for it, but for the same amount of time investment you can continue to do slim training.

I compromised and did 1 mile of WATP and 1/2 of SI6, I would have done the whole thing but I got a call and took it as a sign from God that I should stop. LOL, it was either that or puke my guts out in the toilet.

woo hoo Yoly Brook can tell you she was sore like you and even had an incident with a bathroom wall after a leg muscle gave out on her the next day after working out some leg muscles on that series.

LOL, thanks. I'm gonna do it again tonite, that will be a total of 6 days for this week, well 5 1/2 really but I think I'm ok. I can already see some of the benefits so I'm really excited. My legs are starting to look much more muscular and when I flex my arms I can see a definate line where my biceps are. I love this program and am recommending it to everyone I know.

I kind of feel like it is my secret weapon, when I'm stalled out or not losing fast enough I'll pull it out and start it up again, If debbie can't get me out of a stall nothing can.

Re: Soreness and Slim in 6

One of my friends introduced me to slim in 6. It definitely does it's job! I got it awhile ago before atkins and then quit when I quit my low cal diet too. For those who don't know there are 3 videos start it up, ramp it up and burn it up. So when my friend and I started getting lazy and skipping days we'd joke that we were thinking it up! Haha...she'd be like "so did you ramp it up today?" and I'd be like "no but I definitely thought it up!" Anyway, I wanted to start back up on ramp it up but my disc is all scratched so I've unwilling been doing burn it up. It's just soo long! I've also been wondering if I should devote all my excercise to slim in 6 or divide it like I have been. I've been doing 3 days of the couch to 5k thing and crunches and pushups and then 2-3 days of slim in six. I have my 10 year highschool reunion in 4 weeks. What do you think would be more beneficial?

That's tricky and maybe Brook or Barbde will come along and better answer your question.

I have heard on here that long distance running really slims down your legs, but I think it's over a period of time. SI6 seems to boast that they can get you thinner and in better shape sooner. I don't know if this is necessarily true and I am by no means bashing running, run on but I have already seen results and I've only been doing it a week. And if you only have 4 weeks to get as much excercise as you can get it I would suggest doing that one.

When I'm done with SI6 and am have a longer indurance I hope to pick up running, I want that lean look that running will give my legs. Can't wait!

Hey yelah - You should PM me. I might be able to help

As for your schedule, you're doing what I did when I was learning to run a 5K. I did C25K 3 days a week and Si6 the other 3. When I was feeling like super woman, I'd do C25K & si6 on the same day.

Honestly? I'd hit the Si6 harder. Si6 is a solid combination of aerobics AND strength training. The strength training is going to help shape and define your body and muscles while giving you all the aerobic benefit. The running will give you the aerobic benefit, but doesn't do the job for overall strengthening. I find that when I keep a good combination of both going that my body changes shape faster - and for the better, obviously - than if I just stick to straight running. The scale moves better with just running (for me, at least), but I wasn't concerned about just the scale moving - I'd rather lose inches!

Yoly, I know that si6 defnitely helped me with my running. I'm sure you'll find the same thing!

Hey guys, I upped my resistance today. I am still doing Start it Up but I am using 3 pound weights. I'll probably stick with Start it Up for the rest of the week and then I'll move into Ramp it Up. I took a little sneak peak and am excited!
