    Did my cardio..... 50 minutes on treadmill. I was sooooo tired this morning.

    I just can't take a picture in a swim suit...sorry - don't throw me out. I go to a place where I am measured monthly. I'll let everyone know the difference from 1/11 to 2/11.

    Side Note: I saw a picture of me from last year and I was so excited that I have lost so much weight (90 lbs from 3/25/04) yet so sad that I ever let myself get that far. It won't happen again, I promise!

      Lower body today... I am not sure I'm up for this. Not coping out, but my knees were dying. I have no problem with the cardio or upper body, but making all the lower body sets is impossible or me

        I hate Lower Body too I did Lunges they are evil.

        Wokrout went as Follows.

        Lunges 12xnw,10x10lbs,8x15lbs,6x20lbs,12xnw changeover Leg Extensions 12x50lbs
        Stiff Legged Deadlifts 12x50lbs,10x60lbs,8x70lbs,6x80lbs,12x60lbs, no change 12x16lbs
        Standing Calf Raises 12x50lbs,10x60lbs,8x70lbs,6x80lbs,12x60lbs changeover seated Calf Raises 12x60lbs
        Weighted cable ab pulls with Obleques, 12x30lbs,10x40lbs,8x50lbs,6x60lbs,12x40lbs no changeover 12x40lbs

        My legs are Killing me Nastie and Sore but, it's all good. I also did 1 hour of cardio today along with everything went 5.2 miles not too far but, I am still not feeling 100%

        Oh hey New_me you don't have to take a pic in a Baithing suit it just shows more Progress take a pick in a tee shirt or no sleeve shirt and shorts that would be GREAT!!!

            Hey everyone--

            Sorry for being absent--I got a call Monday and was offered a job that I hadn't even interviewed for! (I had interviewed for a different teaching position before the break, but wasn't going to find out until the end of this month) My starting date was yesterday, so it has been a whirlwind--I was at school all day yesterday and today--had new employee orientation until 6 pm this evening, was at dance class last night til after 9pm--I am pooped! Oh! My job--Collaborative Social Studies Teacher--basically, a Special Ed position, co-teaching in regular ed inclusion history classes (6th-8th grades), supporting the kids that have IEPs (Individual Education Plans). I jumped right into a vacancy, so have had no extra training, and am learning as I go... Needless to say, my workouts have suffered. I overslept for running yesterday and today, so I will run tomorrow morning and Fri morning, as I have a 20 mile race Sun.! EEK! I had my dance class last night, so that will count for cardio, and I will do upper body tonight, lower body tomorrow, and upper body again on Fri or Sat....I'll get it straight next week--I will say, though, that certain days are better for me than others, namely the first 3 days each week...My schedule may be a little different, but I plan to get the workouts in...Again, sorry I haven't reported until now...I'll get pictures made soon--TOM started Mon as well, so I'm a little bloated...haha

              I'm getting ready for my Personal Trainer certification test in April and from what I've read if lunges and squats are killing your knees then it's likely that you need to check your alignment. YOUR KNEES SHOULD NEVER BE FORWARD OF YOUR TOES AT ANY POINT DURING THE MOVEMENT OF THE EXERCISE!! (sorry for yelling, but that is the most common mistake I see for those two exercises ).

              Basically what that means is that when you do your squat or your lunge, you should be able to look straight down above your knee and still be able to see your toes the whole time without having to tilt your head to the side.

              So, for squats, be sure you are sticking your tuckus BACK during the movement. Your shoulders should go straight up and down, but you need to stick out your b*tt as you lower your body to keep the alignment of your knees and toes in the proper position.

              For lunges, make sure you have your forward foot out in front far enough so that you can see your toes at all times. If you are just starting out with lunges, it's probably easier to get into position and raise and lower yourself without the "stepping out" component until you are strong enough to do that. So, do your set of lunges with one leg forward and then do switch to the other leg. Also, in this exercise a common mistake is that people try to put their feet in a straight line instead of keeping them hip-width apart (even when in the lunging position). If you keep them hip-width apart, that will help keep you balanced and also help you keep your knees behind your toes where they belong.

                This morning I hurt... badly. I almost fell down the stairs because my knees kept giving out every step. I think I badly overdid it on the lunges and squats yesterday.

                  Lower body is done. I think I look crazy doing lunges.

                  Question: I have a BAD habit of weighing every morning and from yesterday to today I put on 1.2 lbs. I'm thinking I should give up cheese again and go back to only drinking water and stop with the diet 7-up w/ Splenda that I drank for the first time yesterday. What do you think?

                      NO NO girl it's not the Cheese it's the Exercise what is Happening especially if you are sore is your Body is tearing down Literally and you muscles what do they do but, they get all the available water and they swell just like if you sprain your ankle except this is what you want to happen. This weight gain is a good thing it means your body is doing what it needs to repair itself. You will probably notice a gain for a little while but, Take out the tape measure and start measuring this is wher you will lose way more inches then Poundt so don't be discouraged it will all be great.

                      Yes, I totally Agree Swim mom Be sure to have the Proper Form and Yesk, there are so many who do not use Proper Form when doing these exercises and wonder why they Get injured. If at any Point you feel anything other then usual then you stop and do something elese. Lunges are one exercise that many do not do Properly and I agree with that. So Be careful everyone we don't want a Bunch of cripples HE HE.

                      I ahve been out of the weight training so long my muscle soreness is crazy today OH MY LORD OUCH Walking up the stairs is NASTIE It will go away in a few days then I'll be doing it all over again ROFL.

                      Keep it up everyone we are doing FAB!!!

                        I did My cardio Today and Of course I slept funny and Twinged something in my lower Back I am not happy so I didn't run a little too sore I walked at a 7% incline for 60 minutes and man was I dripping walking from 3 to 4.8 MPH HOLLY CRAP. Well I can say that was an awesome workout.

                          I'm VERY IMPRESSED with this workout crowd!!! I'm not very familiar with Body for Life, but I will certainly check it out. I'm starting a different program on Monday, but I'm always looking for new challenges for variety.

                          I'm gonna cheer for you folks and wish you the best in your workouts!! If you start another round of this in the future, let me know!

                            OH I am sure we will It's an Increadible Workout and the transformation is astonishing wait till ya see the after pictures in 12 weeks it's gunna be awesome I can't wait to see How toned I get.

                              Did my cardio, 22 minutes today. It was intensely painful. Glad I have a few days to recover before that lower body again. One thing the trainer at my gym showed me was using an excercise ball to help maintain proper form when you are doing squats. Really made a difference.
