Just checking in..have been swamped with work.

Doing 4 days of running, 30 min runs (around 2.5 miles from mapmyrun.com) around lunchtime. Going to the gym at aroun 3 and doing 45 mins of weights, 15 mins stairmaster at least 3 days a week. trying to run as many days as i can but the weather hasn't been great (either sweltering hot...when it's not it's pouring) so it's been averaging 4 days.

the weather has finally gone back to nice breezy 70's so hopefully i'll get more in.

I haven't weighed myself in 6 weeks but i'm still not feeling any smaller, i'm still quite sure i'm 8-10 lbs over goal.

One thing i noticed...the last two months at TOM, i got bloated, and the bloat never went away after..has anyone every experienced this? i've been pre-tom bloated for 2 months now (nope not pregnant despite the fact that i feel like i look like i am). any of you ladies every experienced that? I'm hoping it goes away this month...this is the reason i'm refusing to weigh...i'm strictly going by the feel of my clothes. probably should have posted in the womens forum..but just curious.

sadie, i think that is exactly what caused my gain. i felt the same way. i had not changed anything and almost overnight, i gained those pounds. then one day it just started to come off. i knew it wasn't fat, that was the good thing. now, i haven't had what you would call a tom for long time. i still get symptoms like it but never do the deed, if you know what i mean. it's all part my menopausal state of being. that is what i attribute the gain and the loss. i say just keep doing what you're doing.

for a test the other morning i stepped on the scale at 5:30 am when i get up. i was 122 right then. i got jack off to work and went back to bed for about 2 1/2 hours. when i got up the second time i was 125. go figure.

You konw jimmie that makes me feel alot better, i can also tell this is not fat gain, it's mostly on my stomach, that 'can't hold it in' bloated feeling LOL. I hope my whoosh will be this month. I guess upping my exercise in the past 2 months maybe didn't help either? I'm really avoiding the scale at this point, no point getting myself down about it...i'd rather go by how my clothes fit. i have a feeling if i stepped on a scale on the wrong day i'd faint if i saw the # LOL.

Think you're wise Sadie to stay away from the scales. If you keep plugging away, sooner or later you'll get your reward.

Hormones are such a bore, aren't they? Jimmie... I'm also having those TOM-like feelings with no TOM happening. Been pre-menopausal now for a couple of years so maybe I'll finally get to take the "pre" off if TOM has gone for good. Can't wait for these hormones to settle down!

Got a good exercise routine in today and a steep tramp with the hounds (forgot my DANDR though!)

I never stayed up but I'd go up 5-10 pounds the week before TOM.

Staying bloated for 2 months has got to hurt. Time to see the doc about it.

did my gym workout today and boy did it feel good

i couldn't be happier to report that my weight was at 123 this morning. the established "goal weight". my body like it there and when all the crap from the move and the stress the ensued happened i shot up to 128. been struggling with it like sadiejen but finally today i see 123.

sadie, maybe it's your turn now. higgies and i both are in good shape. your turn!

woo hoo commandercuppy cake is back!!!! 123 congrats so now that you are 5 pounds lighter have the push ups gotten easier? they told me at the gym when I was shrinking I needed to add weights to my body to get the same workout when doing pull ups and situps.

I'm good to go HIITed and sweated good this morning.

You know 2big i'm actually going to see my dr after tom this month if it keeps up, i'm worried it may be a hormone problem. hubby thinks it's in my head, but us women know our bodies i think...i've been going thru this once a month for a zillion years, i think i know what to expect. Hopefully in a week or two i will be back to normal. i've got my fingers crossed. The other thing i am thinking is i started the gym not long before this happend, then i upped my runs from 10/15 mins to 30 mins a day. my body may be trying to adjust. i'm also thinking of cutting out dairy (i started eating yogurt every day not sure if it's related).

Jimmie, I will get there! LOL it's been way to long now..I've at least managed to maintain without gaining for quite some time which is a relief, so at least i know if i get back to goal; i know my limits for maintainance.

Today I ran 30 mins and will go to the gym for weights and stairmaster. Yesterday I did weights only, I'm trying to take a rest day every once in a while from running/cardio, my legs where pretty tired yesterday. I'm also going to try to add 5 more mins to my runs...I'd love to be able to get up to 45 mins and maybe even an hour by the end of the summer.

push ups easier? i can do another rep. than when i started with the ball at my knees. but they are still hard for me there. i maybe could do more but i added back in doing my dumbelss. i saw some flabby arms one day and it jerked me into reality.... i don't want those arms, so i added the arm work with my weights. that wears my arms out.

                          thanks sal and sadiejen.

sadie, you and i chatted a lifetime ago about our goal weight. i always blame my hormones for any fluctuation. we know it's not the eating and it hasn't been the exercise.

Nice that your Jack's oggling your posterior Jimmie... that's one thing my hub is not so happy about with my weight loss... my bum got flatter. Do lots of exercises for it, but so far not much luck. All the rest is good though and I'd rather be slimmer with a flat butt than fat with a rounded one!

Did a good workout and walk today... been hard at it the last couple of days as I've got guests for a couple of nights which will mess the old routine up, for sure. Still thinking about ordering the exercise ball... seems that the road to **** reall is paved with good intentions... but I will, I will!
