i figured i'd better come in here and post something. i have been down.
    jack is gone
    the house is a wreck
    exercise is taking a beating
my mind has been on overload

on a good note though, i did 15 minutes on my bike, 50 crunches and 50 x 2 with my 6.5 # dumbells. i see some girls starting a sit up challenge. i might check into that. that is something i can do even if everything is packed up.

i am glad you guys are here.

HIIT is high intensity interval training. you go all out till you are lterally at your maximum vloume oxygen level and then you back off and recover in your fat burnig mode. Then you up it again and then recover again. some folk do 1 min intervales others do several mins depends on what you are doing and how long it takes to get to VO max and how long it takes to recover.

Jimmie... you're doing fantastically, exercising when you're blue. That usually helps alot when down in the dumps. Hang in there... these phases pass.

Thanks 2big for the explanation (hiit). Sounds, erm, energetic! Maybe I'll give something like that a try one day as I'm getting a little bored with my usual exercise routine. Been keeping to plan though and haven't skipped at all, these last few days.

Didn't have a Superbowl party here in Europe, of course... but was rooting for the Steelers as I have a close friend who lives near Pittsburgh and supports that team. Guess he'll be doing the partying for me!

Jimmie 48 since you know the move has you in a funk and you have read that exercise can help make you feel better cause it burns off the stress hormones in a productive manner and it generates a great feel good hormone in the brain. Notto mention it burns off cals and allows us to do Atkins at a higher carb level.

Oh I felt horrible last night! I still feel bloated as a matter of fact . I thought to myself 'well I'll go jogging tomorrow' but of course it snowed all night so that nixes that! i did end up going for a 2 mile trudge through the snow with the dog last night though. Not sure how many calories trudging burns off..LOL but it's better than sitting on the couch .

Today I have to start my crunches for the challenge too.

The sun it out so i'm hoping it will melt the snow off the sidewalks for my run.

i'll be in such great shape if thies move lasts much longer! if jack stays gone and i stay in a funk i'll be soooo fit! lol
HEY! YOU'RE GETTING DOUBLE THE NUMBER IN! if i can make a path for the ball in the living room, i could do double the pleasure, double the points too!

ladyinred said she would do 1500 situps/crunches in feb. lol i saw a comment of "was i drunk?" lol

sadie, so sorry you didn't get to run that off. trudging.....i don't know how many calories that burns but trudging can be quite a workout on the legs! i may be in the south but i was born yankee and i've trudged a few times myself! and yes it is better than sitting on the couch..........unless of course you are watching NASCAR!

sally, are you doing the situp challenge too? i tried to scroll back but i don't see any comment to it. i'll have to just check that out on the sign up thread.

i am always thankful you guys are here. [[[[group hug]]]] you all made me realize that goal was not so much that 120 mark but the size 4 and feeling good. these days goal is not one number. now its' 120 to 123. takes the pressure off, ya know?

You know Jimmie, changing your goal from that number to size/how you feel is very liberating. It took me a few weeks to actually train my brain to accept it..but I've actually stopped weighing completely, and going by how my clothes feel. I used my jeans (non stretch ones LOL) Denim doesn't lie!

Actually the sidewalks are clear now...and i ran into my marathon running neighbour while i was out walking the dog this a.m...and now my conscience is yelling at me. Now out I go!

yep use that size thingie as your jugde or your inches as you scale number is going to fluctuate. Dr Atkins said 5 pounds as the time to worry cause he knew about fluctuations and he knew about actual weight gaining too.

I'm not counting my ball crunches cause those are my free didn't count exefcise sneaky burning cal things like grocery store and mall walking too. BUT I get to count theones at the gym in the sit up challenge and in the ADBB PRES CHALLENGE was what I meant.

Hey Jimmie Jo I just figured out a way for you to get more exercise on NASCAR days you can invent a new timing measure of race care speed. how many ball crunches does it take 48 to get around the track and you can time pit stops too

i let my brain get to me too, sadie. went and did 60 crunches along with some arm work. i think i'll try to to the ball tonight....after ncis, maybe before, but certainly not during!

some of those tracks are short though.....
pits stops only last like 14 seconds for a long one..... i think i could handle those. i would get in 5 or 6 maybe. lol
