  • Re: The Goalie's Challenge Exercise Thread

Thank you Jimmie for touching base. I've been keeping up with ya'll. I am more obsessed w/food and diet and exercise than I ever was while losing, and I took a step back from the boards to try to gain some perspective. And my schedule changed too, I have very little time to contribute. I do appreciate your points of view, esp sadie147's recently, about still haveing to change it up.

I am hanging at 133 w/o exercise (well, I still chase kids). I got to 130 at one point and I was much firmer then, had muscle cuts in legs and pecs, those have disappeared. But I was just going over the top, y'know? I didn't LIKE having to analize every carb and calories too to keep it there. at 133, and an admittedly softer look, I can have my cream, my coffee, my grains, and my once a week regular serving of dessert. That feels balanced to me. 130 was hot...and felt deprived.

Hi to all of you, and thanks again Jimmie. You guys are fantastic and the board is so lucky you've stuck around.

    Hugs
    Denise

denise! so good to see you chiming in! hey, we all know that stepping away and stepping back. we totally understand. it's good to see you holding steady and being comfortable in your skin.

i think that analying everything is what is getting to me. i don't do it and then i do and the times i do, it makes me crazy. what i need to do, is just continur to do what i've always done. that's it. i didn't get to this point by slacking off week after week and i feel pretty secure in the fact that i will continue to do what's right to keep me where i am. it pretty much says that in your siggy:

Hi Denise so nice to see you pop in! Yes I am tired of all the analyzing as well, good for you to be able to step back and take a break from it!

It's amazing as I read your and Jo's posts, how much i hear myself in what you both say!

            how is everyone doing?

i'm a bit frustrated and shared a bit of that with higgies this morning. he managed to talk sense to me.

exercise is good. i'll be at the half way point on kilimanjaro within a couple days. the climbs are coming along really good since i starte challenging myself to getting so many in a week. i'm determined to have them done in about 4 months or so. that is, if nothing disasterous happens like moving to a house with no upstairs. yikes!

you guys keeping up with things?

Still on track in this neck of the woods... apart from a weekend's break in Anzio. My only major (!) increase in exercise is the throat poking!!! Oh wait... no! I forgot to mention the big increase in stair climbing since I made my makeshift step. Doing over 50 most days now and am determined to put Mont Blanc behind me asap. The end is in sight. Hope to make Kilimanjaro before you (jimmie) and susan move on. Still waiting for my eBay step to arrive. I look out for the postman each morning!

Sorry to hear of your frustrations jimmie... but higgies is very level headed and kind, so I'm sure he empathised and helped. Give a shout if there's anything I can do... Remember, things always go in phases and will no doubt swing in another direction soon.

very sweet of you, sal. [[[[hugs back at ya]]]]]

i love your explanation of the double chin challenge..... throat poking. lol. it's a pretty easy challenge to accomplish even for those of us (me) who are not the early morning type.

that's very neat how you "stepped" it up a notch to get those flights in! well done! something about getting close to the summit seems to help get more done too. i was sick of being on mont blanc and i had to get it done. now the flights just keep piling up. i promise to still be on kilimanjaro when you arrive. i would love to be on everest with you and susan.

I'm still going to the gym, yesterday managed to do 25 mins on the treadmill as well as my workout. HOping to go again today, though it's awful cold out...so it'll take some mental convincing to go out and warm up the jeep and force myself out.

I wont be doing any more flight challenges for a while as I want to keep up with my running for now, and still not able to run outside yet..so i've been stepping away from the stepper for a while.

Hope nobody in the challenge is planning on climbing the CN Tower at the moment, it's a bit slippery as it's covered with ice for the first time every thy've had to shut down a major part of downtown as well as a large strech of highway becuase of sheets of ice falling off the tower.

Hopefully i'll start with my staircliming again when the weather is nice and i can run outside in the mornings. i'd like to do a real CN Tower charity stair climb this year. maybe next year i'll do a realy Mt. Kilamanjaro climb

i knew you stepped away from it, sadie. the good thing is that when you get back to it, you've got one the longest climbs taken care of.

we've got a couple that will be approaching the CN tower pretty soon. maybe the sun will shine and melt the ice by then and the streets will be reopened. if not, susan will provide some spiked shoes, i am sure. maybe we should send some hard hats with the climbers too!

Went to the cottage this weekend and spent 3 hours sunday cross country skiing. wow what a workout!!!! . I'm not nearly as sore today as i thought i might be (i was still pretty sore yesterday). Though the giant bruise i got on my rear from falling is still a bit sore LOL.

I gave myself a break yesterday, but will get back to the gym today.

Weather is improving a bit here as well..hopefully it's an upward trend. It's actually above freezing and the snow is finally melting!

that is a good thing because it means we are doing something and not resting on our kesters.

sadie our snow is gone! i actually had the front door open today letting in some of the warm air.
i've only seen cross country skiing on tv and it does look like quite a workout! you knees made it through without much pain then! good!

i've been doing something everyday and keeping up with all my challenges. i have less that 1000 flights to finish off kilimanjaro. i'll be glad to have that bad boy out of the way. i want to be on everest!

Our snow is almost gone here too! Just the big snowbanks left. Now I have heard they're calling for snow on friday again I think it's going to be around mid 50's f today (12 c).

We're having amazingly warm weather here... the whole winter has been. They say the warmest winter ever recorded in this part of the world!! It's strange to see everything at least a month ahead of time... spring flowers, scents, food produce....

Everyone's in a tizz about this and worrying about global warming, and that is a serious consideration...but have to say (in a whisper) it's awfully nice to have missed out on our usual frigid January and February.
