Re: Sarah's Bodybuilding 101 for week of March 6th

Yeah, it feels good. I got a cramp in the gluteus maximus though. Whoah! Just went outside for a minute and my legs just about gave out going down the steps. Gotta be careful!

I'm going to get some heavier weights this weekend probably. The ones I have are good enough for the arms for right now, but for legs I need more. Even though I'm only lifting in the 12 lb range for the arms, that's still double what I started at. Heck, when I first started doing exercise with slim in six videos my arms couldn't make it through the warm up without wearing completely out.

I'm starting to see some muscles in the arms too. And I can feel the bones on the top of my shoulders now. Wish there was some way to measure the inches lost there!! I'm just two weeks into lifting and I'm seeing results. That's really great for me, because I'm not the most patient person in the world.

I think I like the lifting because even when you don't SEE results in the mirror, I KNOW I'm getting results because I'm lifting more weight. It's really satisfying.

                Way to Go Jas!

I feel like I get cheated on the mileage on my elliptical. Yesterday it said I was doing around 60 rpms, it showed that was about 2.5 mph, yet in 30 minutes it said I only did 1 mile and 350 calories. I guess that's still better than the measly 130 calories fitday said I burned.

How the heck do those stupid machines figure that anyway?

                        Hi Jas, Joy & Sarah!

I have been at home with the slowest computer in the world so sorry about the delayed posts!

Monday - Curves circuit (kept my heart rate up -felt good)
Tuesday - Mega House cleaning/yard work day (no exercise)
                        Wednesday -

Hammer Curls 3 sets of 12 repetitions
Back seated rows 3 sets of 12 repetitions
Shoulders lateral raises 3 sets of 12 repetitions
Triceps tricep extensions 3 sets of 12 repetitions
Chest dumbell flies 3 sets of 12 repetitions

Here is me blushing - I used LOW weights like 2 and 5 pounds. The form part is going to take some getting used to! I see why we take our time now! I am envious of your weights! Deep breath, I'll get there right??

Tomorrow is Curves again - That okay Sarah? What about the weights? Stay the same until I feel form is nice and controlled, right?

From what she's told me, you want the last 2 or 3 to be hard to do, but able to keep form, just keep that in mind when you decide how much weight to use for each exercise. If it's easy to the end, you need to add a bit. Feel that burn the last few of each set! You're doing fine. Just get the form right first. The added weight will come.
