Re: Cool Running for the week of March 19, 2006

Well, I was sick of making excuses not to run. So I got out again today. But I actually am sick with a bad cold (okay maybe the flu) so I went out for a five miler, I figured I'd sweat it out. Anyone else do that? I had to walk alot because I kept having coughing fits. But check this out I was 8 seconds faster than my last 5 miler 2 weeks ago. Go figure. I'm still way off my pace, but I have some time before my first race (unless I run one sooner).

GREAT JOB, JIM! Hope you feel better soon. Yes, I have run with a cold and its TOUGH, but hey, we runners ARE TOUGH!!

Every little bit helps, so keep it up! You'll be more than ready for your next race!

As for me, Thursday, 6.3 miles. Felt pretty good today, although the humidity was atrocious .. I sweat like an everlivin' pig!! Supposed to cool down here tomorrow and only be in the upper 60s for the next few .. that will be GREAT! Looking forward to a strong run on Saturday in the cool air!

            6.1 miles for me yesterday!

Betty, that humidity sounds awful! It's been in the 50's here lately which as far as I'm concerned is PERFECT running weather!

I would like to start running. How much do I start with, or do I just let my body tell me when I have had enough. A mile sounds like a long way, 10 sounds dang near impossible!

It's supposed to get nice today I would really like to take my kids out in the stroller and go for a burn ya I am increadibly nuts of course I'll be pushing 70 pounds so I probably won't be able to run too far it's sooo good for the body though and I will actually get faster doing that so it's pretty cool.

Today is a no running day but, itf it's nice I may run any how.

Thanks Sarah! I am trying - some days it is harder than others but I keep trying to push myself. You yourself have done some amazing things and should be very very proud of yourself. You are an inspiration to many people - as everyone has noted before so I will just jump on the band wagon. Great job with amazing results!
