  • 10km Run preprations

    the next marathon is jan 2007..i missed this year since i wasnt ready and dh wasnt convinced
    next year i will be signing up for 10km race ,it is 10km=6.25 miles
    i think i can do it
    the results this year were as below

    the third prize went to a paki lady but as i see the mph is very low almost 12mph..i think i can do it in less than 30 minutes ,provided i prepare myself

    so here starts my saga with running wooho!
    and there is big money involved in it
    if i ge the first prize i will get 2500USD..hehe..
    now i just have too think what will i buy with this money?..hmm probably a new TM since this will die during this year doing this much running.hehe

    oh and i have to quit smoking too ..if i have to get the prize
    and that is hard even more than running

        and there is even a bigger reward for full marathon
        there are two categories one for local runners and one for international runners
        since ther isnt much trainers availabe here so our Govt really appreciates local runners

          i did my 30minutes on 5 mph..2.5miles..not good but i will work it out

              Cool that would be sooo aweosme. Just get your long running base up first get to the 10 K mark slow then you can work on speed you'll have no speed if you don't get your endurance up first once you can run the 10k with no probs build up your speed by hill training interval training etc.

                u can win 10k,7.5k,or 5k USD if u win any first three places in 42 km Marathon

                    the best i did was 6.5k in 60 minutes EVER
                    i will try to crepp to 5miles then 6.25 gradually..within next two months i want to keep i slow..so i get the endurance.
                    thanks for the starting tips sarah.
                    i mostly do 5mph on incline 2 for 30 minutes i will rather slow down my speend and do 4 miles,for 4mph..then creep to 5mphs ..then one day i will be able to do 12 mph..and then 14 mph,..hehe
                    arent we too optimistic

                      You dont have to pay the travel expenses either our Govt plus the country whose athlete participate pays the travel/hotel bilss

                        We gotta have goals and be Optimistic other wise where the heck would we be right. The best I have ever done is running 8MPH for 5 minutes HE HE. I can do intervals and go a lot longer but 8mph is really fast and I still ahve a bit of weight to push off and such to go that fast.

                          may be u could ask the local Marathon supervisors to know the procedure
                          there is a year to to train yourself for the big run

                            i once did 10mph for two minutes too
                            and lost my breath..but i can do intervals.
