  • 1/2 Marathon Countdown

    WOW Can you Belive it My halfer is in 10 days I am sooo ready I am running 4 days this week 4 next week I just wanna be sure I am well rested WOOOHOOO. This is a HUGE goal for Me everyone I never dreamed I would run this far ever in my life. But, my dream is becomming a reality and yes, I will fofil my dream here in 10 days WOW amazing I am excited scared and emotional about the whole thing. I will be thinking of all of you when I run I wanted to tell you all How Excited I am and this will be my little Journal on the days Leading up to MY halfer.

    I just looked at your before and after pics-wow Sarah! You have already accomplished soooo much! Can't wait to hear how the 1/2 marathon goes!

          Yes I do I ahve my Waist pack I ahve been training with and I'll have a Atkins Enduge bar and My hubby will have My Mac nuts and my meat and cheese and salad at the finish line WOOHOO.

            9 Days till the Halfer and I had a HUGE set back. I was planning on running an 8 miler well I was up all night long with a throwing up Kid and to tell you the truth I am sooo tired I don't even think I could walk 10 feel my body is soooo baked. Teach me to be up all night Long. Everything will work out I know it. I am gunna bring my Workout gear to Red Deer tomorrow and Hopefully get a Run on the track in.

              Sarah, so sorry you're sick!! GET WELL!

              You really *need* to start tapering your distance ... so you have really fresh legs for the 1/2er. Trust me, you will be glad you did ...

                I guess it's a forced Taper My little guy is sooo extremely sick he has not come upstairs he has been throwing up for 13 hours MAN I feel for the Poor little guy he's sooo sick. I am doing good Betty I feel good I am just really tired from no sleep last night Now my immune system better not shut down or I'll be sick too. SO I ahvet to get to sleep really early if I can HOPEFULLY.

                Well I am gunna have to go to the drug store and get some Drugs for my Kids Maybe some gatorade or something POOR baby.

                  6 days to My Ultimate Goal right now. I feel very Unsure of where I am going I was hit hard AGIN on MOTHERS day I am undetured though YES, I missed my last long run Yes, I am behind on my training right now, but, Yes, I will finish my run even if I have to walk it. I am determined to do it.

                  My last 3 days has been a WHirlwind My kids were sick On friday then Saturday I was sooo tired and rehersals everything I lft the run for Sunday. I woke up at 5am running to the Bathroom with Diarreah it wasn't till I woke up at 7 am that I knew I was gunna have a Proble. I spent the rest of the day on the Couch trowing up and with Horrendous Diarreah I am dehydrated Lethargic and feel sick today YES, SICK. My body still isn't holding onto anything it's all comming out thank GOD not Puking. I haven't ate in days from sickness, my body is basically on shut down Mode.

                  Time to take this into my own hands Pumping Vitamins, drinking vitamin enriched water chugging Jugs of the cold stuff. OH right now I pray that I will feel well enough to run On wednesday for my 5 miles I just want my legs to work at this MOMENT.

                  It seems that as soon as I get close to somethng I really want I get HIT but, DAMN I am comming out fighting this tooth and Nail if any of you know me you know I NEVER give up. Throw me against the wall Iget up I keep trying nothing will Hold me back.

                  I AM GUNNA DO THIS>

                  Pray for me for the strenghth in my legs the determination in my heart and the Courage to finish.

                    5 Days to the HALF MARATHON

                    Can you belive it 5 days till my Halfer I have been taking Potassium Suppliments OH my have they ever helped me recover I felt peppy within 2 hours of taking them last night like a whole new Person I never realized how important Potassium was. Today I ran Yuppers I did it felt sooo Awesome I didn't feel tired or sore or anything I felt like I could run and run and run. It was amazing I thought about Betty, and the rest of My buddies here on the ADBB and I also thought about how far I ahve come and How great it's gunna feel to run outside on SUnday in the warm crisp air. I thought about how great it was gunna feel to cross the finish line. For a brief moment I felt like I could fly as I imagiined myself crossed and My body tingled all over it was sooo amazing.

                    I know now I will be great with the halfer I'm not worried anymore. I'll keep up with hydration and also with the suppliments and I know in my mind that I will do great.

                    I ran 5.2 miles in 60 minutes then walked for 10 minutes after that it was like Heaven who ever would ahve thought running would make me feel so Empowered Had I thought like this 1 and a half years ago I think not. I would have thought NO way as I huffed through 2 minutes thinking I would die of heart failure. Yup I started like everyone elese running at 255 pounds and could barely go a Block. Now look at me running 1 hour without hardly breathing hard running 14 with only tired legs WOW. I amaze myself every single day.

                      Sarah, you amaze ME every single day too!

                      Now, slowly taper down until the 1/2. I would suggest a steadily decreasing mileage schedule .. cut back everyday by at least 2 miles. NO RUNNING THE DAY BEFORE.

                      Lots of good hydration, supplements. Plan to finish the race RUNNING, whatever speed .. its ALL ABOUT FINISHING STRONG.

                        OH ya I will Betty I am Very well rested I only ran a 5 today Plan on a 3 Miler for Thursday then no run for 2 days Before sound good Girl. I can't wait to have you running beside me virtually cheering me on I know you'll be there in spirit I am counting on it.

                          4 Days TILL the HALF MARATHON

                          OK 4 days till I hit the Raod WOOHOOO. I went to the city Picked up the stuff I will need MAC nuts and BARS mainly Atkins Enduge Bars are the only ones that have no Malitol and don't cause stomach pain from **** so I am using that one. Did my training run with it and it worked pretty well. SO that's all good.

                          It feels so good right now just to be able to eat AHHH Yummy food. HE HE I am sitting enjoying one of my Favorite things tuna cheese and celery in a bowl slathered with mayo and a touch of mustard what Diet lets you eat that. This tastes sooo good I can't tell ya MMM.

                          Oh I picked up sports Sunscreen I figured it's suposed to be in the 80F for Sunday so I better have that and be very well hydrated going in.

                          It's a balmy 30C or 86 F here right now not even LUNCH EWWWW. I hate the heat I sure as heck don't know how anyone does it without AC I ahve none and it sucks. I remember in Brooks where I used to live basically the Desert of Alberta for a full week were were around 46C that's 114 F that was way too hot I was Pregnant and I felt sick tell me about Naked sitting I had no AC and it was horrid I am sooo glad not to be in that any more but it's still too hot in my house EWWWW.

                          I ahve been taking my Suppliments like a good girl drinking eating and I think my energy is good. My legs feel great after yesterdays Run.

                          Now the only thing I have to do is download a few songs onto my MP3 player and I should be ready WOOOHOOO

                            I'm glad you're feeling better, Sarah. I'm cheering you on! I know you'll kick butt.

                            It's so wonderful how far you've come. I know when I run my first non-stop mile that I will probably cry like a little girl. And here you are, coming from where I am now, ready to run a half-marathon. You're amazing.

                            This is so exciting. I love this countdown thread.
                            No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

                              YA I love the Countdown thread too it was a good Idea I can kinda Post whatever and What I am feeling and such it's nice to ahve an outlet and for people to see what mental Pysical prep goes inot running something like this.

                              Yup I came from where you are right now I am sooo full of emotion I can hardly contain myself I never realized how far I have come till you said that. Thank you for reminding me that the Little steps are what got me here. DAMN now I'm crying LOL. Each little step got me to where I am today.
