    Hello everyone!

I haven't been around for a while but I have been keeping up with my running. Last night ran 4 miles - very hot and sticky.

Hey Fozzy sometimes when you start running you kinda take a step back in Progress before you take a step forward if ya keep up with it you'll keep making progress.

I have a 5 miler planned for today.

Early morning run today. I went 4 1/2 miles. What a difference it makes running at 5am vs. 5pm. So much cooler and very peaceful!

Wednesday: 6.3 miles done after dinner .. I hate running after a meal, but these days, it rains every single afternoon completely with serious lightning ... so I guess running on a full stomach beats being a lightning rod!! At least I live to tell the story!!!

Well it seems my post on the main forum was taken TOTALLY wrong .. so I will limit my posting to this thread from here on. Obviously speaking boldly in the main forum is risky! Ya'll know I don't pull punches when it comes to motivation, so let the cool runner beware! THIS IS A KICK @SS THREAD!

Thursday: 3 miles in over lunch hour.

Hey Betty I knew what you were saying some read a little more between the lines and you are always the first to inspire and help me out (((HUGS))

I did't run yesterday but I went for a 1 hour bike ride pulling 120 pounds in kids my legs were sooo sore and today my calves are sore and my Quads. I am thinking of having a schedual 3 on 1 off 3 on 1 off. I am finding I can do the 3 days but by the 4th I feel very tired so I amy change that and do this instead.

THANKS SARAH! Some people love to take things out of context I guess .. which is THEIR problem ... oh well, can't please 'em all and won't even try to.

Girl, that sounds like terrific cross-training! Good for you! I keep thinking about getting my bike out .. so far all I do is think about it ! GOOD GOING!

Okay .. off to the shower and then, back to work!

                THANKS FOR YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT!

Good (fantastic) news is that it appears that I am totally through my knee injury.

I did my 5k last night in one of my quickest times (27:49) with knee support on just incase, everything felt fine, so tonight in the gym I did 2k on the treadmill without the knee support and it still doesnt hurt.

                    What a relief.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I finished week one of the Couch to 5 k today. It feels good to be doing SOMETHING. I should add that I'm for now doing all this on the treadmills at the YMCA. I tried to mix it up last time with real running and the treadmills but I think that on the trail where I run is where I injured my ankle. I'm going to stay on the treadmills until I feel stronger and the weather cools a bit. It hit 113 degrees today with high humidity. The treadmills seem to be easier on my old knees anyway. I do feel that it is a bit of a cop out and not "really" running. It does really make me sweat like a hog though! I ride the bike first for about 10 minutes and a medium resistance (about three "cyber"miles). I felt really good today!

WOOHOO Richt I am sooo glad about your knee.

Hey Fozzy the TM sounds like a good idea for now till it cools and it most likely is easier on your knees that's how I started.

I'm hoping to be able to stick with the running enough to feel like and maybe even be called a "runner" again...

Saturday I did 1 mile for sport relief (charity)
Sunday - 5.5 mile race which was an absolute nightmare, cross country and extremely hilly.

Going for a slow 8 mile training run tonight.
