  • Just ordered Slim-in-6

I just ordered Slim in 6 a few days ago and I hope to have it by the end of next week. I really haven't exercised much except for walking, but I will be committed to doing this program - even if I have to march in place while I catch my breath (I read that on this board somewhere ) My Problem areas are really by butt, thighs, hips and abs which I understand that this exercise program is particularly suited for. So is it really brutal for people who are out of shape? Am I taking on too much too soon? What do you think?

    Is it brutal? Yes.

Are you taking on too much too soon? Nope! As long as you recognize your own physical limitations, listen to your body, and slow down when you need to and get back in there when you can you'll do just fine.

    Be warned though. It hurts!

Will it always hurt? Or does it ease up after a week or two?

The first week is he||. I won't lie to you. If you do a search on "si6" around here you'll be able to read several threads by victims..errr....people who talk about and detail their first week. LOL

For me, it generally takes about 4 days before I can actually move again without wincing. LOL Then it eases up and it's fabulous.

You'll be sore off and on throughout the program, but it won't hurt. It's a GOOD sore.

The program is simply amazing. It really really is and it's worth every "ooh!" and "oww!" you go through in the first week.

I'll likely be right behind you again. It's time for me to dig out the Pixie of Pain and get my hiney back in shape again!

Hey, you can go here: www.wowy.com and log in while you do your workout and it will keep track of it for you.

              Neat site!

I'm on my first week of Slim in 6 and still doing "Start It Up"...it is great!!

                Re: Just ordered Slim-in-6

Hey, I just ordered it too! I found it (2 DVD's) on ebay for $20 without the diet, which I don't need because I have Atkins.

How much room do you need in front of the tv? Also, mine is not coming with resistance bands. Do I need them or can I use weights?

By the way - I searched for "slim in 6" here and it comes up with forum topics with 46 posts and more, etc. For example ValidRouge's journal comes up but I can't find the specific post where slim in 6 is mentioned without reading the whole journal. How can I skim for the actual posts that mention what I'm looking for?

Sadie, look in the exercise and/or excercise challenges forums. Also look for Vidiots House of Pain.
You only need enough room to take a step in each direction. And you can use weights in place of the resistance bands.
If you ordered from Beachbody, their shipping used to take forever! Hopefully they have gotten better with that.
                  Woohooo! More Vidiots!!!

I looked at beachbody.com and they wanted 3 payments of $19.95 plus $9.95 shipping and handling that's.... (drumroll) $70 BUCKS! Woo! I also read a review on beachbody somewhere (Amazon I think) where they said they hadn't been happy with the customer service at beachbody either.

I got mine on ebay - 4 videos - three of them were brand new not even out of the wrappers for $20.00 and that included my shipping! It didn't come with a resistance band but I have a bunch of different weights from my P90 days and use those instead.
It doesn't take a whole lot of room, just enough to do a good deep lunge and lay down for situps/pushups. It's not cardio but it gets your heart rate up, and its not jarring to the knees or ankles which I love.

I had to do the start it up for the first four times and I was sore. It's bearable, and you do get used to it quickly. Ramp it up had me hurting again and I couldn't keep up with everything. I have been bad the last couple weeks and haven't plugged them in (just started working again) so I s'pose its back to the start it up for a few days!

My Slim in 6 DVD's came today and I did the first workout tonight! Woooo! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight, I'm so worked up. I think exercising in the morning makes more sense and gets you going for the day. I was totally soaked with sweat! I couldn't keep up with all the squats either but I marched in place like they said to do. I really was just making sure the DVD's worked and it started and I started and before I knew it, I was done.

By the way - I had a dollar bid on the VHS tapes of all of the Slim in 6 workouts on ebay and they sold for $1.25 plus shipping! Ha ha ha!

I saw that! It was a great deal, except I didn't want the VHS -- I've gotten addicted to DVD's!!
