The best way to do it, is simply just do what you can. In time you will automatically improve. When I first started I would struggle to run 800 metres (very slowly) yet now 3 years on I can run 13 miles in one go.
Keep at it and you will be amazed how quickly you become better.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!
