Does anyone else do DDR? Do you have a favorite version/song? I'm still working my way through DDR Ultramix and I like "Ready, Steady, Go" by Paul Oakenfeld, "Castles in the sky" and "Shiny Disco Balls."

I never thought I would enjoy that music, but I do. I hear there's a Britney Spears one out - I don't usually like her but I can see how her music would be good for DDR. Does anyone else have it?

You know, I've heard it's alot of fun and faboulos exercise. I've considered buying it....I might just for something different. My x-box gets rarely used now...that might give me reason to use it again.

Have you ever tried Yourself Fitness? it's a fitness game, it's pretty good as well.

The kids at Youth on Sundays play with it all the time and I thought to myself that would be good exercise

Sadie: I'm not sure what Yourself Fitness is. Does it require a special interface like DDR's dance pad?

Sandy: I really enjoy it. Plus, I can do it in my house without having to go to the gym.

          Re: Dance Dance Revolution

i LOVED playing DDR and i got SUCH a good workout doing it and noticed that the time always FLEW by and i hardly even noticed i was exercising until i was done and found myself drenched in sweat lol (specially because id always wear those special sweat shorts and sweat tummy band when working out) anyway, that is until the metal dance pad i bought and paid alot extra for broke and the soft spongy one i got there after broke as well and both happening in a very short period of time...now i cant play at all and i refuse to spend money on another one because i feel it too will probably break and be another waste of money...do you know of a dance pad though that you mightve had for a long while or something and not had complications with? a certain type or brand or anything??

oooh, also, if you have ps2 theres this GREAT work out game you can get that comes with a little camera and its interactive with you on the screen and literally works just about every single muscle in your body and you can custom create your own routines and everything, its called Kenetic, by eye toy i believe and it is FANTASTIC! just a little reccomendation if you're looking for something new and fun!

            We have DDR
We have it with a big metal pad which is nice.
BUT, I am TERRIBLE at it!!! Michael puts it on really slow songs for me at the easiest level, and I still get confused...lol. I need to do it more. I had him set it all up in the livingroom for me. I have heard about people losing a lot of weight doing it. I work up a sweat doing the easy level.

              Re: Dance Dance Revolution

I want to get the metal pad! We have the foam one - I've had it for over a year now and it's been ok. I looked online and found all these websites where people modify their existing pads so they are more durable. Too much effort for me, but I don't really play it all the frequently. I like the songs, but they tend to get on Mr. RR's nerves - and we only have 1 TV!

I have DDR! I think its fun but I get confused by it sometimes too... So I need to practice more. Plus I have it down in the basement on concrete floor and I just have the plastic mat so it slides all over the place! Maybe I should duct tape it down. My friend Jeff lost quite a bit of weight from playing it hardcore.

Maybe next month we should have a DDR challenge. Maybe we could pledge to do a certain amount of hours???

or maybe a certain number of songs? They seem to be similar in length.

Yeah, I'm sure we can do it. And sure we could pledge a certain number of songs. I think we can just start it under challenges. I'll find out, and I'll plan it for June 1st

sorry just saw this, actually it's really a fitness game, aerobics, yoga etc with a virtual trainer....it tracks your progress and advances the exercises as it feels it needs to. pretty neat actually. no special equipment required though if you have a balance ball or weights etc it will add in exercises for those as well.

here's the website with info: http://www.yourselffitness.com/

First post! I've been reading the board for over three years and finally decided to post...

I'd love to do a DDR Challenge. My DDR mat is just collecting dust at the moment, lol.

I have to recommend Yourself!Fitness... I've had it for about a month and I absolutely love it. It's like having your own live-in personal trainer. So far I've integrated the balance ball, hand weights, and heart rate monitor for variety. It's more than a few steps above doing the same workout tapes over and over.
