It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I know what you mean, Rich. Our spring is even shorter! Well, just consider these hot days good preparation for that Disney Marathon!

Wednesday, 5/23: 6.3 mile run this morning. Such a beautiful sunrise!

            Hotter today. 86 degrees. Yuck.
            4 miles in.
I guess this is good training for the Disney Marathon.

5 miles in, fastest time of 2007, 51:27

A little more push on my uphills and downhills and I'll easily shave that last minute and a half off and be back under 10 minute miles.

17 days until my next race

                  Whats your next race Jim?

I struggled last night, I think I am suffering a bit of "over training, that and the heat". Ran 5.1 miles last night. But stopped and walked 5 times. Not happy with that, but cant perform every time. Slow slow 55 minutes.

My next race is an 8k (I know strange distance), but it's the first I ran, I had wanted to run it since I was a kid (it's in my mom's hometown. It's the Battle of Bunker Hill Day race. The whole day is a celebration commemorating when a small company of minutemen defeated an overwhelmingly large British force (sorry Rich) during the revolutionary war. They have activities for the kids, reenactments, two races (the 8k and a 2mile fun run for kids) and a parade. Basically a drunkfest.

                      Good luck Jim!!!

Rich, its okay to slow down for the heat. Nobody knows that better than I do, trust me. And 5+ miles in under an hour isn't slow .. its SMART.

Friday, (TGIF) 5/25: 6.3 miles this morning. Sweat like a pig....

HAPPY 3 DAY WEEKEND TO EVERYONE! Be safe!

JIm, 8k isnt a strange distance. Its exactly 5 miles. There are a number at that distance over here too.

Five miles in, I won't call it a 5 mile "run" though, maybe a 4 mile "run".

Way hotter than I expected, I was a bit dry going in, preloaded with 16 ounces but that wasn't enough, and I've never carried water. I actually stopped at the church my daughter goes to pre-school at to drink some water. Felt a touch nauseous and figured better to walk it in and live to run another day than to keel over because I didn't have enough water. Either way still, only 61 minutes, with a water break and quick chat stop.

Fastest of the year yesterday, and slowest of the year today, go figure. But at least I got it in, which is all that really matters.
                            Jim

Given the fact that we are definitely WARMING UP out there .. might I suggest that you guys consider buying "Electromix" electrolyte replacement powder? Its really good stuff and mixes easily in a 20 oz water bottle. It has saved me from dehydration MANY times and IMO, its well worth what it costs.

                              Google search it!
