    Welcome mom23kgirls! I walked for a long time before I ever considered running.
    Happy to have you posting here.


    I rest 2 days every week whether marathon training or not. I take Mondays and Fridays off. The Monday is especially important for recuperating from the Sunday long run. Too much pushing yourself without adequate rest = injury (forced rest).

    10 miles in. Temps in the upper 50s. Perfect.

      Then I'm going to be one STRONG little lady the next time I run. Today was supposed to be my 2nd session for the week (I start my weeks on Sunday), but life happened and I didn't get to it. I am ashamed... I could have squeezed it in at about 7:00 this evening, but I was too tired. I can't let this screw up the rest of my week.

      Since Thanksgiving of last year, I have had such a hard time being consistent with exercise. I don't know where my discipline has gone. The good news is, that so far, I really do like running! Honestly, never in a million years did I ever think I would be interested in or enjoy running. True, I am in the infant stages of doing it, but I am very happy that I like it enough to pursue it further.

            Tuesady was interupted by my cranky toddler..but thats ok..got in a good 25 minutes of walk/run intervals...

            Wends. 65 minutes of hard core walking at an incline :<) 30 minutes weights

                WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16TH

                Completed Session 2, Week 2, of the Couch 2 5K program:

                Brisk 10 minute warmup walk
                Alternated jogging 90 seconds, then walking 2 minutes, for 24 minutes
                Total time including warmup: 34 minutes
                Total distance covered: 2.5 miles

                              FRIDAY, APRIL 18TH

                              Today I was supposed to complete Session 3 of Week 2, but I have been fighting a cold since last night. I'm going to lay off today, in hopes of keeping the sickness at bay. Putting lots of Zinc gel in the nose - it works!

                                I had an easy 4 miles tonight. This is my taper week for my first half marathon next weekend (my first!) so I'm anxious to have fresh legs for that. It does feel weird to not be pushing it though.
