Well, I've just posted on another thread about walking, and mentioned our British weather!!! (We do...apparently it's a British thing!!!) Walking in the sunshine like we have here today is great, but in the torrential rain - not quite so appealing.
Anyway they have just mentioned the Tour De France on the radio, so I have decided I am going to cycle it. Well, OK, actually I'm going to do the distance on my stationary exercise bike, indoors, over a period of time!
Just looked it up, and the distance for 2008 is just under 2175 miles. Over 6 months that works out to about 84 miles a week, over 12 months about 42 miles a week. I'm going to allow myself the year, as I am determined to get this weight off, and be healthy, so I'll be in it for the long haul. If I do it in less than a year then all the better. At the moment 42 miles a week is much more realistic for me... but who knows?
I am house sitting for a friend until Friday, so I'll probably start at the week-end, once I get home and have dragged the bike out and changed it from a clothes hanger to an exercise bike again. They do make good clothes hangers don't they?
Anyone want to come?
Pat
