    so how is anyone losing weight in there arms.. i hate my arms and would love them a whole lot smaller??... any suggestions??

    You can't pick where you lose weight from. That being said, the best way to make your arms look better is to do weights. I recommend doing high weights and making your arms feel like noodles afterwards. However, lack of ability to move my arms is also the reason drinking water/eating is hard for me today.

      Great question! I'm in the same boat regarding my arms I have incorporated a lot of weight resistance training for my arms to try to deal with a lot of weight that they carry and trouble shoot potential loose skin. I am seeing a difference for sure but have a long way to go!

      I just purchased 3 different sized medicine balls as well to incorporate into my weight routine for my arms as well as various other regions and I can really feel it working in the arm area.

      Lyssie, could you explain what you mean by high weights....do you mean lifts over your head...that sort of thing or lifting heavier weights? I would greatly appreciate hearing more on what you mean, I need all the help I can get!

        I mean heavier weights. It also helps to lift them over your head and do things for triceps tho. A lot of girls feel like if they use heavier weights they will "bulk up" instead of being able to have the sleek muscles we all want... but it's just not true. The fastest way to see those results appear is to go with heavier weights until your muscles fatigue.

        For example, if I'm doing free weights, I do 3 sets (usually of 8-12 reps), the first set being a little below my max, the second set being my max, the third set being either max or a little below, depending whether I can still move my arms or not. If you want, I can give more examples, as well as some of the arm stuff I do.

          Hi Lyssie,

          Thank you for answering my question. I totally agree and support lifting heavy...it makes a big differenece. I didn't realize this concept until a few months ago. I was lifting little weights and then came across a story a lady told about losing a lot of weight...she looked fabulous! I couldn't understand how toned she became so quickly with the amount of weight she lost....the secret was...she lifted heavy. So, after hearing that I started to lift heavy about two months ago...I can really begin to see a difference.

          Absolutely, I would greatly appreciate some examples of what you are doing and examples of arm exercises. I have a lot of weight on my arms and I'm terrified of ending up with three to four inches of loose tricep skin! I'm doing whatever I can now to try to prevent this from happening....and I do see a difference but I've got a ways to go. I don't want to go in for surgery...so I'm working out as though I'm training for some sporting event!

          I do admit, I'm rather enjoying it!

              I tend to get caught up in the numbers on the scale. I want to lift heavy, but I need to see the scale move toward 200 lbs. Has anyone lifted heavy and even though they slimmed down, the scale kept moving? I don't want to be a 200 pound size 10. I want to be a 160 pound size 12. Does this make sense? I am interval training (HIIT) and really see my body transforming and losing weight. I do need to firm up the arms and keep the skin toned. I'm 46 years old. I am holding out that there is hope to get rid of loose skin and bat wings.

                    I have been doing pushups for three weeks and can already see a difference in my triceps aka "batwings". To keep at it, come over to the July Push up challenge and pledge to firm up those guns! I do them bent knee style still but am working toward the guy kind. It also works your core so you get double the benefits.

                      I do these over head exercises with an 8lbs ball instead of weights in each hands. I only do reps till I feel the burn. I kinda do this several times a day, even when sitting and working at my desk. I never really had sagging flab, in fact this was one thing I did even while gaining weight. It was/is one thing I really enjoy I suppose.

                        paula, my trainer used to call those "skullcrushers'. She had me using 15-20 pound weights so you can see why they got the name. LOL

                          Here are the upper body exercise demos that I use from SparkPeople. They work very well. I have a ton of weight still to lose so it will be quite some time before my arms are thin...but they are starting to firm up.

                            Target training only works slightly, high reps and only do about 5 or 6 sets of 10 to 12 reps of any movement for both the tri and biceps not each or else you will overtrain, And then Diet diet diet it will come off evenly all over the body but you will notice your arms will become toned and sexy
