Awww, thanks. Honestly, if six months ago somebody had told me I would be training for a mini triathlon this summer, I'd have spewed my diet Coke through my nose. Now I'm like a kid just so excited to learn, because it's all so new, and dare I say it, FUN! You're a huge inspiration for me, ttdriver. I'm really wanting to get back running!

          oh yeah

My favorite is definately the elliptical.

I just love that machine. I have also went from a sofa slug to an excersize FREAK. I find that if I have done my workout early in the mornings, by mid afternoon I am feeling the need to go out and excersize more. If I only had a fitness center "gold" membership I would be able to do unlimited excersize. As it is, I could only afford the 60 sessions a year and am really limiting myself in the gym. But that isn't to say I don't excersize outside the gym. I am constantly going for walks (I haven't gotten up the courage to do any jogging in fear someone may see me, and that wouldnt be a sight I would really want to put anyone through).

I am an excersize FREAK and loving it.

            Tae-Bo

Tae-bo does it for me! It's great, fun, and it's hard to hit a true stall, because there is no way you won't lose inches.

The stair climbing machine...not the stair master, but the machine that looks like an escalator (except the stairs come down, instead of up). That is my new favorite. I am substituting it in place of the ellpictial because my knee was clicking on the elliptical.

I love the stair climber, my heart rate gets right up there, and I sweat a lot, my thighs feel great, it feels better than the ellipitical...

I'm a workout-video junkie and I just keep going back to the step aerobic ones--definitely the favorites here! Lately, since I was so completely cardio during my weight loss phase (I leveled out back in November and have been holding steady at my goal size), I have been getting strength training videos and using free weights with them, alternating those with the step workouts.

I also love kayaking (flat water, not whitewater) and get out as often as I can (turns out to be 1-2 times a week). Lately every trip has involved paddling against the windiest spring I can remember us ever having, and I'm usually out for 5 hours at a time, so my arms and shoulders are getting worked very hard these days. Great fun, though.

Well, it has to be BOXING!!!!
I love my elliptical and do for 60 minutes most days. Best cardio with a bad knee. Also weight training.

                  Betty,
I saw tht the M61 HRM had a chest strap. I have avoided these since don't like the chest strap. Can you use without it? Do you know anything about the Polar F11?
                  thx

Betty has turned all of us into Triathletes! (at least I think that's what their called)

I feel the same way as many of you - if you told me a few months ago I would have a favorite exercise I would have told you to lie down and let the delusions pass.

But here I am exercising every day and enjoying it - it's changed my life.

My favorite is Power walking with hand weights. I also like working out with weights for strength training.

I love lap swimming. Nobody notices when you sweat! Lol! It seems like at the drop of the hat I'm "tweaking" some muscle in my body (I have Fibro) so it's an excellent way for me to exercise. There is so much variance in the swims that I don't get bored and that's key for me to sticking with it! :yes
