  • a few questions - sorry long

I have been working out approx 5 days per week (step aerobics, weights, yoga / pilates and a lot of the 30 day shred) for 2 months now. I have lost 25 inches, which I am really happy about, but only lost 10 lbs. I know I am probably gaining muscle now, as muscle weighs more than fat, which may be why I am not losing more.

At 5'2, 162 lbs puts me at a bmi of 29.6 - way too much. Even when I get to my target weight of 135, my bmi will be 24.7 - which is on the very high end of ok.

If I continue to gain muscle, will I ever get to goal? Won't my weight just keep going up - or staying the same? I don't see how goal is even possible - how will I ever get my weight down? Should I give up weights and just do the other exercises (they are only 5 lbs weights - I do them with squats, lunges... I am not using 40 lbs weights!)

Please help, I know I shouldn't care about the scale - but I do. I am trying to get healthy and with a bmi of almost 30, I am not. And I am frustrated.

Any advice would be great - thanks!

About a 10 - but I have a closet full of 6's and 8's that I want to get back into. I got rid of all my 4's thinking it would not be possible to be a 4 again....

What size are you liv? and well done for being 1 kg from goal!

Re: a few questions - sorry long

I am 6 - I hope to squeeze into a four by the end of the summer. (I need this goal to stay motivated. Summers are hard - some much ice cream and convenience going around)

You really have built a lot of muscles. When I was 162 I was wearing 16 - even had some 18 laying around. Can you say flab?

So how is your eating? This is the area where the fatloss is going to happen.

I also think your body will let go of the fat with the exercise but slowly. If there are any modification to be done, it is on the nutrition side.

          Thanks Liv.

I think my eating is ok - I have just started eating berries - a few times a week and usually with cream. I think I am about 35 carbs per day - but got bored with fitday so am not sure

maybe I will post my menu in the review section to get some more feedback
