I have been working out approx 5 days per week (step aerobics, weights, yoga / pilates and a lot of the 30 day shred) for 2 months now. I have lost 25 inches, which I am really happy about, but only lost 10 lbs. I know I am probably gaining muscle now, as muscle weighs more than fat, which may be why I am not losing more.
At 5'2, 162 lbs puts me at a bmi of 29.6 - way too much. Even when I get to my target weight of 135, my bmi will be 24.7 - which is on the very high end of ok.
If I continue to gain muscle, will I ever get to goal?
Won't my weight just keep going up - or staying the same? I don't see how goal is even possible - how will I ever get my weight down? Should I give up weights and just do the other exercises (they are only 5 lbs weights - I do them with squats, lunges... I am not using 40 lbs weights!)
Please help, I know I shouldn't care about the scale - but I do. I am trying to get healthy and with a bmi of almost 30, I am not. And I am frustrated.
Any advice would be great - thanks!
