Yup I am in not for the 120 but, hopefully for a bit. I am still extremely tired so I am going to try and jog a bit today if it's short term hey, at least I did somehting right.

I'll check back later still feel really weak this morning so I am going to try for a bit later when my body perks up a bit. I had my shot today so I should perk up in a bit.

    Take care all

I have been AWOL lately. It's been really crazy at work. It's driving me bonkers. :speechle: BUT, things should calm down this week (crossing my fingers). My job is pretty physical, and some nights I walk 3-4 miles, but most times it isn't areobic or fun.

So, my goal this week is to do real exercise at least 4 days. I almost put down three! But, I'm going to go for four! :whip

There ....... I put it down in print! :yikes Now the only thing to it ......is to do it!

Piasabird, I was about to issue an APB for you!! (all points bulletin) GLAD YOU'RE BACK!

Sarah, take it easy, k?? Do what you can, but LISTEN TO YOUR BODY ... don't overdo it!!

Just finished 8 long grueling sweltering miles. :help OMG, the sauna is ON! I discovered something though .. when you are totally spent and think you can't go on ... that's when your MIND has to take over your body ... that's how I finished ... it takes DISCIPLINE FOR SURE! Gad, I am beat .. but feel good to have finished all 8 miles running without wimping out...

VERY GLAD TOMORROW IS AN OFF DAY! Anybody seen a cold front they could send my way??

4.4 miles today; 38 degrees at 5:30am; please send some warmth to the North.

Challenge for me this month will be to fit running or some exercise into my life this month. I'll be running to IL and WV, and DC, and OH this month and with all that car travel I hope that I'll be able to get out and run.

Betty, I need to replace my heart rate monitor and I can't find your post where you told me what one you are using. Could you please share again, and I promise to go and get one.

I've been finding that my morning workouts leave me wiped out at the end of the day and make for anxious sleeping ("Is it 6 am yet? Is it 6 am yet? Is it 6 am yet?") even though my alarm is set.
Our club has a weekly evening scooter ride on tuesday nights and I need to be fresh and awake for that, so for a while I'm going to do my runs when I get home from work at 1:30 like I did today.

Had a wonderful run in the light rain this afternoon....it was one of those runs where everything felt great...which sort of means to me that I need to extend it a bit more. I extended it a bit already this week, so I'll stick to that and move on next week...I'll soon be at a full 5 k! The benefits of the afternoon run is that I am not bound to a time limit, so I think this'll be better overall.

                Anyway, enough rambling..lol

Well, I had 2 goals for this month - first, run my two miles with only one walk break, and second, qualify for the President's Challenge bronze medal.

Well this morning I finally managed the first one! :joy The best I've done before is two miles with three walk breaks, but this morning I made absolutely sure I started out with my slowest possible jog and I did it. I really never thought a year or so ago that it would be possible and I'm soooooo happy!!!!!

Yesterday was totally chaotic as we had some people come round who wanted to rent the house so we had to rush to the garage to retreive the van after its test so we had somewhere to store all the boxes we had lying around everywhere. Then we had to squeeze in some emergency cleaning. :sadblinky Fortunately, the people were looking for somewhere with a low rent and for a long tenancy in return for doing all the decoration and maintenance themselves, so this suited us perfectly and we're now busy drawing up the contract.

That just leaves the bronze medal to aim for this month - only 3% left to go!!!! Oh, and squeeze in a wedding and emigrating too, though that may be delayed till next month...

What's the President's Challenge bronze medal? I mean, I haven't heard of it so I was wondering what it is, details? thanks

Back from my run; 4.4 miles in 50 minutes. HRT was between 133 and 145; chilly 33 degrees when I started and 36 degrees when I ended. No one was out running today but it's a beautiful morning.

                      What's the President's Challenge?

Ok, it's a challenge where you log all your activities, keep a record of the 'points' you earn, and collect enough points to win medals. If you go to the 'Exercise Challenges' forum and check out the ADDB President's Challenge sticky you'll find full details. There's quite a few of us Atkins folk doing it as a group, or you can sign up individually.

The great thing is you can sign up when you like and you work individually to a standard, not against other people. You can either do the Active Lifestyle award, where you do at least 5 days exercise a week for (I think) 6 weeks, to encourage you to get active, or you can Presidential Challenge where you aim for 20 000 points in total for a medal, with no time limit on how long it takes, just keep logging you points until you qualify. Once you have one medal, you go on to collect for silver and gold, but I haven't got that far yet....

Check it out and sign up - it's a great way to stay motivated :yes

Hi guys, Iknow I haven't been around much. I have been really tired and feeling just yucky in general. I haven't been walking since thursday. I just don't know what's wrong with me. I did go dancing Saturday and did pilates for 30 minutes yesterday and 30 minutes today. I think it's just the weather, it has been so bad. It's supposed to warm up today so I really want to try to get 4 miles in today. Tomorrow I want to do 6, just to see how long it takes me to do it while staying in my target heart rate. I haven't been very motivated lately. :anger

                            Hey everyone!! Happy Tuesday! :wave

No run for me today .. after yesterday's sweatfest, that's good news, although I will be doing my 150 crunches on the exercise ball and other weight work. (no rest for the weary!!)

Moochie, I so know what you mean about the early morning runs being stressful .. I felt the exact same way last summer when I'd get up at 4:30 and hit the streets by 5:00. It was good to do it before sunrise, but it did cause me to lose some sleep worrying that I'd oversleep and miss the workout. So right now, the afternoons work better for me too! WTG, girl, you will soon be hitting the 5k mark!! EXCELLENT!!

WTG Esther in achieving that goal!! I am so proud of you!! That's so inspiring, isn't it?? Makes you believe that NOTHING IS OUT OF REACH!! And you know what? The good news is NOTHING IS!! Keep at it girlie!!

Carole, 4.4 miles in 50 minutes is TERRIFIC!! Wow, you have made great progress!! Woohoo, running in 30 degree temps!! That must have felt terrific! About the HRM .. mine is a Polar M61, but Polar makes lots of different styles in all different price ranges. I do suggest you get one with a wear link strap and not just rely on the watch part .. the wear link transmitter is very reliable and accurate. I got mine at Sports Authority, but you can also check ebay and see if they have any on there cheaper.

Susan, here's hoping for better weather ahead for you!! I know weather can really get you down and make you feel like doing NOTHING, but you know what, that's the time you need to do it most!! Anything will help ... just a brisk walk can do wonders for your mental outlook! I have no doubt if you get those 4 miles in today, you'll feel alot better and be back in the groove again!!

Okay, off to drink some tea and then hit the exercise ball!! WOOHOO!

                            Betty
