That's exciting, Esther! You'll have to post pics for us!

I'm still sore and tender from TOM, if you can believe it, and yesterday bf went to the chiropractor so I got a tune-up while I was there as well. He found all sorts of kinks and hot spots that he worked on so I was sore from that today.
So this morning, I decided to walk a 5 k instead of running my usual shorter route. It felt really great, and I think I might start doing that walk 4 or 5 times a week and ease up on the running. I'll play each day by ear, because I don't want to give up on the running altogether.
I was gone a full hour, got a light sweat on, and in places was getting a little out of breath so I know I got a decent workout from it.
    I'll see how this goes!

Moochie - I know what you mean about TOM! 2 days ago I spent half the afternoon in bed with it, then I was fine till yesterday when I got the most awful cramps for 30 mins solid, then this morning fine, then all this afternoon laid up in bed with cramps. Last month was completely fine, and the 2 months before that the pain was so bad and so prolonged that I went to the doctors, who helpfully told me it was my age. I asked if it was likely I'd need a hysterectomy and he told me I was too young. I also have a wonderful extra - a randomly timed (but always sometime during TOM) incredibly painful cramp up the backside lasts about a minute, makes me scream aloud and sink to my knees. Anyone else have this? Or am I just plain weird... :sadblinky

Betty - the most I've run so far is 30 mins, covering only 2 miles, so I think I'll be walking with a little running interspersed :nod

Breakfast is going to be bacon and egg. Sunglasses? In Wales? Nahhhh.... When I get to Portugal, yes!

I just found out there's gonna be a t-shirt for all entrants :icondance

Have fun, Esther! Sounds like a blast!! Enjoy competing, even if you're just competing with yourself! (that's typically what I do!!)

No run for me today and the toes are glad .. Tomorrow, they'll be mad when I head out for 11 miles. I plan to get up early and run when its cooler ... well, okay, less hot. Hope to finish in a couple of hours.
That will give me 44.2 for the week since I had to run last Sunday cuz we were out of town on Saturday.

Happy weekend everyone! Don't forget to come here and record your progress!

I jogged outside again I think for 35 minutes I went around 2 blocks 7 times don't know how many miles that is but, I did it and I am really sore. There was a nice incline that lasted about 40 seconds every round so I got my heart rate up pretty good. I got to motor though so take care all and have a good one.

Great job,Sarah!! Take the car out and check the mileage to see how far you went. Its a great motivator!! You're doing great!! Its wonderful to see you back out there again!!

I'm heading out for my long run of the week. Probably take me at least a couple of hours. Went to Sports Authority last night and got two more running outfits, so I am psyched!! New shoes, new socks, new shorts and new sports bra! Life is good! :joy

I'll check back in when I get done!

OK I've been MIA this week, and I really don't know where this week went. Last weekend we had friends visiting and we walked and walked and walked all over a fairgrounds on Saturday and a fishing town on the Chesepeake on Sunday. Monday or was it Tuesday I went out and ran 4 miles. Thursday DH took the day off, we headed to DC with the kids and walked their little fannies off.

But this morning ---- ':yikes' I went running ':dancingb:'

                  6.15 miles!!!

I've never, ever run 6.15 miles straight before, the most before this was 5 miles. I felt like I could have continued except I was getting dehydrated and I have lots of things I need to get to this morning yet. I did it in 76 minutes, and burned 760 calories.

I'm going to MIA most of this coming week too. My DS is competing in the National Science Olympiad at U of IL and I'll be taking him there.

I finished 11 miles today in 2 and a half hours .. not a ball of speed, but I finished it all running and burned 985 calories. Pretty good week's work: 44.2 miles.

                    Off day tomorrow. YAY!

                    Have a good one!

I checked how much milage I did well KM wise and each lap around the 2 blocks is .5 KM so all together I went 3.5 km that's a little over 2 miles I am pretty happy with that pretty darn good for only my second day outside running.

That really is good, kiddo. I use to run quite a bit on a treadmill but it was a different story when I tred it outside on the hard ground!

                        Good going!

Thanks Pisabird I am hoping to go a little more each time. It's such a great accomplishment to say I went this far. LOL. The first time I went outside befoore I got sick I was only able to jog 20 minutes so I would say I am pretty darn happy. When I get up to 5 kms I'll have to enter a race. Hopefully there will be one on my hubbies days off.

That is very very good, Sarah!! Just don't increase your mileage too quick. Give your body time to adapt to the challenge of running outdoors. Its alot more strenuous than running on a treadmill and you don't want to risk injury or another setback.

Take it slow, but keep at it and you'll be running those 5k races in no time!!

Speaking of which, I signed up for one next Saturday .. let's hope the humidity isn't 1,000%!! :yikes
