  • Dizziness after exercise

Has this ever happened to anyone? I was wondering if it's from not drinking enough water during my workout, or from exercising too hard? It only happened yesterday.

I came up after exercising to make my dinner and I felt really light headed. It was bad enough I asked hubby to help me with the meatballs I was making. (He never minds helping, I'm just a kitchen hog lol). I didn't feel like I was going to faint or anything, but it really bothered me. I'd definitely eaten enough through the day (was a slight piggy, actually).

    Any suggestions?

    Re: Dizziness after exercise

are you tracking your vits and minerals? if so see if your potssium was low that can cause blood pressure to drop and make you feel dizzy. Or it could ahve been low blood glucose levels if your workout was done in your aerobic range thewn your muscle tissues were sucking glucose from your blood stream to use as anerobic enegy production during your low oxygen times. Fat burning needs oxygen to run which is why it the fatburning exercise marks on the treadmills and cardio machines are slower then the aerobic markings.

Glad it passed and you are doing better

Thank you so much 2big4mysize...I haven't been as diligent as I should be with my daily vitamins, and that could be the problem.

If it has to do with my blood glucose getting depleted too quickly (or too much), what could I do differently?

actually it could be a one time thing and you don't need to worry about it unless it keep shappening. how long was it since you had eatten?

you can lwoer ther intensity of your workout (not a good idea unless it occurs during the workout.)

you could eat a high fat moderate protein low carb snack an hour or two before you workout.

Thanks again 2big. I worked out last night, and fortunately I did not get dizzy after. Hopefully it was just a one time thing like you said. If it happens again, I will try the fat/protein snack.
