Re: Hemp Hearts
I know exactly what you mean with the 'green' taste mog, I find the seeds have a nutty 'grassy' taste. I bought some yesterday and tried them plain, they are very small and fairly soft (i bought hulled). I'm curious to see how they will grind up. I did some more research on the net, not alot of research on them, but the claims are they are a near perfect balance of Omega 3's/6's and very high in protein..which is interesting. Biggest downfall i can see is they're pretty high calorie, 2 tbsns of seed has 150 cals! I think they'd go well in a smoothie too especially being high in protein, they might be a good substitue for protein powder.
Since they're fairly small and soft you could bake with them w/o grinding them i would think too.
Here's good sites with info: www.hempseed.ca and http://www.hemptrade.ca/en/public/about-food.ihtml
It is fairly cheap here (and was on sale). It's around $10 for a lb, but it's so light so a lb would be alot! I got a fair sized bag (maybe 2.5 cups)for about $3 I'm thinking it will be imported there so might be a bit more .
I don't think it is legal to grow it down there. We're pretty lenient on that kind of stuff here...

I wasn't hungry at all. might not have been that..but it was interesting..usually a smoothie doesn't fill me up that much.

That's cool. I'd love to take JOhn with me if he could just relax and enjoy it, but he always makes me feel like I have to rush! Unless of course we go to the tool store!
...Was in HEAVEN -got to 150, for awhile, then got too busy, and gave in too much... and... OK holding pattern "keep it together..."
