    I received the inhalable vaccine last year, I was gagging for half an hour, lol. i felt sick about 24 hours later. If I was still in the medical field, i'd totally get it, i'm just glad I don't have to.

      I'm a Type 2 Diabetic so it's recommended that I get the shot. Since it's free (I live in Canada) I got it every year starting about 8 years ago, when I was diagnosed. But this year I decided that I would skip it and was fine all flu season. (knock wood)



      Age: 36/ male
      Height: 5'10"
      Starting Weight: 460 (March 1/ 07)
      Current Weight: 338 (Nov 11/ 07)
      Total lost so far: 122 pounds!!
      1st goal: Clean 14 day induction (Achieved)
      2nd goal: 399 (to get out of the 400's.) (Achieved June 17/ 07)
      3rd goal: 350 (Achieved Oct 10/ 07)
      4th goal: 340 (Achieved Nov 11/07)
      5th goal: 320
      6th goal: 299 (to get out of the 300's)
      7th goal: 280
      8th goal: ??? (Not sure yet.)

        I used to, but I've been doubting if it's worth getting jabbed in the arm when there are so many strains out there. I probably should though, I guess it can't hurt.

        My most memorable flu...both me and hubby had it, full-blown, on Christms day. Oddly, I dragged myself to the kitchen and made Christmas dinner. Not so oddly, despite all my hard work, hubby couldn't taste anything.

          Nope, nadda, no way. I'll suffer with the flu first.

          Our immune systems need exercise, too. It'll get stronger fighting with some of these flu bugs. (With exceptions for those with very weak systems.)

            My hubby works at the hospital. My girls work with the public daily. We all get the shot. No ones been sick this year. Thank goodness!

              I used to work in a high risk position and took it every year for many years. Since retiring and moving to a small community, I quit taking the shots.
              MAY 2010 Challenges
              ABS-1200, Squats-1200, Lunges-400, PushUps-700, Stability Ball-250 mins,
              I weigh once a week, Mondays !

                  I would get a real bad flu every year. Since getting the shot (11 years now) I haven't gotten the flu at all. In fact for 3 days after getting the shot my energy level is through the roof Every body is different.
