Anyone familiar with the inflammation diet? Inflammation is what I have a problem with. Well, it dawned on me that this past week on Atkins and all the extra exercise I've done- and I'm not hurting! Now I also drink tart cherry juice for my inflammation and swear by it (so much so that I'm not giving it up on Atkins), but even with that when I exercise I feel the pain and usually have to "give up" after a few short days. Anyway, I was doing some research on the internet and ran across this inflammation diet and it mentioned some things that cause inflammation in people and wheat was on the list. And - guess what? I had the Elisa/Act test done in 2001 and it said I had a food sensitivity to wheat . . . but I never followed through with the elimnation of it from my diet until 2003 when I did Atkins the first time around. Unfortunately at the time I had tons of stress in my life, which is no longer there (not the tons anyway), and I wasn't drinking the cherry juice and I didn't see a big difference in my joint/muscle pain. I saw a difference, but not as big as I'm seeing this time! It's funny . . . so many people will say Atkins isn't good for you - but apparently don't realize that so many of the other diets just follow Dr. Atkins thoughts. WW stresses low-carb and so does Dr. Phil's diet. People think of Atkins and they think it is NO carb - which it really isn't. Anyway I said all this jibber-jabber just to say that I feel great on Atkins!
Anyone else find that eliminating bread and other wheat-carbs helps with joint/muscle pain?
