Okay I was curious who if anyone is planning on getting a tummy tuck after they hit goal or re-constructive due to large amounts of skin.

I have had four kids. Blessing is each! But, the sag I have is really bad to the point I have tears on each side of my belly sometimes in the folds of my skin (gross huh?) from when I exercise and it just jiggles away!

So, with that said. I want to have a body lift or tummy tuck (full in my case). I read about it last night and they want you to be at goal weight before they look at your body to choose what to do.

Anyone else planning on this? or even had the thought pass?

I saw someone with a car as their goal weight reward, this is a fraction of the cost of that....

I looked into Doctors. I found the one I think. He is double cerified and has a huge list of credits to his name. I like his belly buttons too!
This is me at 210 and then again at 192.5. I refused to take a pic like this at 240 pounds (and would not have done it at 210 if not for a challenge on this board). It was so embarrassing. However, looking at them now, I'm glad I took them so I could see the difference Atkins is making in my life. I still don't like the sag in my lower tummy area but I think my overall stomach looks better.

Thank you. Actually I rarely exercise. I did not exercise at all up to the point of this picture and then I started exercising for about three weeks after that. However the time change (why can't they leave time alone) and Vitamin D deficiency has gotten in the way these last two weeks. Hopefully, the prescribed Vitamin D will help my energy level (feel like I've been hit by a Big Mack truck).

            Re: Tummy Tucks?

Just wanted to throw this in here for what it is worth...

The mom of several of my patients lost about 100 pounds and had a large area of hanging abdominal skin (pannus) even though she exercised while losing weight. She is about 38 years old and had had 3 kids in 5 years before her weight loss. She had frequent bacterial and fungal infections of the area requiring medical treatment with antibiotics, creams etc. The skin would occasionally crack and bleed and was painful when she walked. She was evaluated for a tummy tuck (panniculectomy) by a plastic surgeon but her insurance denied it as being "cosmetic". However, she was able to appeal the denial (with the help of her primary care doctor and the plastic surgeon) and get it covered by her insurance since it truly was causing her medical problems and put her at risk for severe infections. They removed a little over 12 pounds of skin from her abdomen and she looks and feels great--minimal scarring right at the top of her pubic hairline. So, it might be possible to get insurance to cover it.
