    I've been taking 1000 mg of the flush free niacin for several years and my liver enzymes are perfect. It doesn't hurt, however, to let your doctor know you are taking it though.

    Actually the body does manufacture approximately 80% of its own cholesterol and if you reduce your dietary intake, the body compensates by making more of it. Cholesterol is very important to the body .. and having too little of it is actually worse than having too much. See this link:

    The drug companies make billions of dollars each year by peddling the statin drugs and they've done an impressive job of brainwashing doctors to overprescribe them. Bottom line; do your own research and don't let your doctor determine what's in your best interest.
