I can't believe they had sweeteners in a vitamin! I did find some without iron today - in a 99p shop of all places, I couldn't believe it!!! They're these ones http://www.premier-health.co.uk/bn/multi_vit.htm, so have started taking them. They don't have any minerals in so I might have to get a supplement, but I reckon this is better than nothing, and for 99p I'm not complaining

I can completely sympathise with you with the price of the courier and not being able to get anything, because I live so far up in the Highlands, a lot of couriers don't even seem to count it as mainland UK, so I get surcharges. I was quoted £12.50 on something for post the other day until I told them where I lived, then it went up to £54.50!

First, you'll want to stop taking those multi vitamins w/ iron and see if it clears up... Without waiting that long to figure out if your injection is failing or your iron is too high, you may want to go to your doctor and have the iron checked to make sure that it truly is the problem.
Thanks Slimdown, I'll speak to the doctor asap about whether it is working, I really can't afford to get pregnant Have stopped the vitamins so fingers crossed it calms down, its just getting so annoying!

JenDoe... yes, aren't couriers the pits! They overcharge and then complain if you live anywhere out of the way! But it must be so wonderful and beautiful up there in the Highlands.

It is pretty up here, although very grey at the moment, the summer is lovely though!

I take a great vitamin called "Super Dad." It is the same as the "Super Mom" vitamin, except it contains zero iron. It has all kinds of good stuff in it, like spirulina and lots of vitamin B. The cost isn't that horrible. It's $48 for a 4-month supply. The quality of the vitamin is well worth it, trust me. You can check it out or order it HERE.

              Re: Multivitamins with iron

Since this has been bumped and it was originally about UK supplements, I'll add that I have Natures Aid one-a-day Multi-Vit & Minerals Without Iron, "contains no artificial flavours, colours, preservatives, lactose, yeast or gluten" from my local health food store.

Centrum Advance which you can get in Boots has some iron but nowhere near the RDA. It might be OK for pre-menopausal women who need more iron. We don't all eat as much high-iron food as Dr Atkins assumed, especially outside of the USA with its high beef consumption. But use something like Fitday to check what you are actually getting from your diet.

                Re: Multivitamins with iron

Centrum Silver does not have iron. Neither does the Walmart equivalent. If you get the "women's silver" it does have 18 mg. So just get the plain kind.
