Re: ADBB Vitamin Club Sign Up thread
Hi, biogeek! ... need to bounce something off you; I posted this on another thread, but this is a nutritional question, so I'm reposting it here: Starting doing circuit training this week, but on Friday my husband noticed big bruises on the back of my thighs. I'm sure part of it is because I exercise with LOTS of enthusiasm
, but I'm also wondering if it has to do with the amount of fish oil I'm taking? I've read that it can thin your blood, like taking aspirin does. (And, Sherri, I promise not to bounce off the equipment anymore!)
I hasten to add I'm taking it on doctor's orders (he said up to 4,000-5,000 mg. a day) because I have familial hypercholesterolemia and need to get my HDL numbers up (I'm on a statin, also). Going to pick up some quercetin and bromelain at the health food store tomorrow (to strengthen the capillaries) plus some arnica gel to reduce the existing bruises.
Any suggestions or info you have would be most welcome
