Thanks. I learned from going into the hospital in August (hysterectomy) that you have to take your own foods ---just in case---. Yes, the hospital staff were very accomodating in helping me pick foods that I could eat. I had pork chops, chicken breast, turkey and steamed veggies with a daily salad and sugar free jello. I told them to hold the juices and milk and send me an extra bottle of water -- which they did.
I have a small cooler with an ice-block that goes inside. The first day I had some chicken, celery and string cheese inside. I ate that with the salad they sent, so I was in no way hungry.
I have just learned that there are no excuses. We have to look out for ourselves. It is our life-style. We are the ones who must be responsible to make it happen. I depended on others and put blame on everything imaginable all my life before Atkins. Now it is just a part of my life to always make sure I have what I need to do what I have to do.
