Just wondering if any of you are members of the RED HAT SOCIETY. I'm thinking of joining and would like to know some experiences or comments that you've had with them. I contacted the QUEEN MOM here in my town, and waiting for her to reply. I thought it would be a good way to meet women my age here and make new friends.

My Mom joined and she is having great fun. They meet for lunch, go out to the movies, she learned how to play black jack, they took a trip to Laughlin. She is really enjoying it and meeting new people and having a good time. I'd say go for it!

I have seen groups of Redhat Ladies all over the place. Jai alai, restaurants, the mall. They are ALWAYS looking like they are having a blast!!!BARB

Seriously though, I know alot of woman that belong and they have a HOOT! The one group that is involved at Curves does so many fun things. They even had a sleep over. I thought it would be so much fun! Kind of reminds me of the YA YA sisterhood thing. And...... I think that is fantastic! I believe at our young age we are considered "pink", but are welcome to join. I will be so anxious to hear!Bren

Alas Bren, I am RED HAT material. My sister-in-law was very quiet and withdrawn until she joined. Now, she has friends her age in the RED HATS. She goes on weekend trips with them and out for monthly outings. She is a riot. She tells me things they do and says that the one night a month makes her feel like a young girl again. She said they joke around and laugh and have a blast.
With all my family issues the past year, I've not had time to 'hang out' with anyone other than members of my family. We've moved and I don't know anyone other than just saying hi to neighbors and such. So, she recommended I join and meet people and get out of the house. I won't be working any time soon here since my daughter moved with us and I'll stay home with the baby while she works.
I was hoping that some of the ADBB members belonged to RED HATS and could tell me some things about them. It sounds like fun, so if she ever contacts me...I think I'll join.

Becky my aunt dorothy belongs to one in Maryland and SHE LOVES IT!!! They go on trips, out to lunch and just hang out. You will have such fun you'll never be home! LOL!!
Bren, ages 45-50 can join as well and those are the ones who get to wear a pink hat and lavender dress (vs red/purple). I'm tempted to do it since I'll be 47 in Oct. There are several around here with HUGE memberships.

I wish my mom would join. She's been on her own since my dad died (8 years ago) and while my sister and I live nearby, we are busy a lot with our own families. She considered it for a while but then didn't do anything about it. She's kind of shy and introverted. I think it would be good for her. So, do pink ladies and red ladies hang out together? I'm 45. From what my sil has told me, the pink/red hats all hang out together. When the pinks turn 50...there is a big celebration and they are given a party to receive their red hats. Great news. I went to a Women's Health Retreat today and low and behold....I met some members of the RED HAT SOCIETY. They were very excited to have me ask about them and they want me to join. So......soon they will have their Queen call me (they took my name and phone number) and I will belong. I went there alone, but hung out with them through the retreat and had a blast.
