  • Having a time.

I am having a difficult time on every front of the way of life right now. I am not getting in the water I should, I have skipped exercise, and I am overdoing on legal food (though I haven't touched carbs yet). Therefore, I am wiping the slate clean and really refocusing my efforts beginning tomorrow. When I wake up, I will get my exercise behind me. I will get in all the water I know I should be drinking, and I will make sure I don't give myself permission to gorge on carb-free foods.

Sorry Just having a lot of trouble keeping motivated for some reason and need to put my goals out there in writing again.

:hug :hug :hug I am right there with you. As I am sure that we have all felt at one time or another. We just need to jump back on the wagon and I am going to nail myself to it so I don't fall off again, because the feeling of falling off is horrible. Just think tomorrow is a brand new day and the first day of the rest of your life

          Dear Brandon,

You can do this, I know you can! What kind of exercises are you doing? I realize your current weight, but there are still many things you can do for exercise. Just remember that this way of eating WILL bring results. You have to work for them though. You will feel so much better about yourself overall. That's awesome that you did not go on a carb binge, but just try to join www.fitday.com and enter what you are eating there to calculate how much fat, proteins, etc and hopefully that wlil guide you!

          Good luck! :icondance

            Hi there sugar!

Listen. If you're like me, stop trying to be so darned perfect. It sounds like you're nitpicking yourself to death. You're adorable and you're going to do well on this way of eating. Learn to forgive yourself a little bit.

I'm going to ask a dummy question now. What, precisely, is overdoing the legal foods? Are you eating 2 steaks a night instead of 1, or eating pork rinds when you're not hungry? At first, that's ok. Proteins and fats are self-limiting. Nobody expects you to start our eating 1200 calories a day. That's for Weight Watchers. This is Atkins dangit!

So if you really want that second steak, for the time being, go for it. You're going to find that you're just not as hungry as time goes on. Watch the veggies, though. If you've got to eat it, make it high fat, no or very low carb.

If you didn't exercise today, don't beat yourself up. Do it tomorrow. I'll be honest. I didn't exercise the first 3 months on this diet and I still lost 55 pounds. I know that's terrible and I don't recommend anyone do that. I'm just saying this WOE can still work for you, even when you're not 100% perfect.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You're human, man! And you're worth fighting for. Stick around, baby! We're here for you.

You've already had a lot of success Brandon. I know sometimes we get discouraged that we don't get to goal as quick as we wish. Take those pictures. I am sure you will see the difference 75 pounds has made in your features. Seeing those changes is addictive and should help pushing you to wanting more and more.

Hey, Brandon...You're doing fine. I hardly exercised my first 6 months because of severe knee pain...although I did take alot of oppurtunity to swim, since that REALLY helped. Do you do fitday.com ? It is such a help! When I started out, I ate alot, but then people on the forum were talking about how many calories you should have a day. Try out this link to see how many calories you should eat, if you haven't already.

Use our BMR Calculator to help calculate your BMR quickly and simply. This and many more tools at your fingertips on weightlossforgood.co.uk.

You may be surprised once you find out how many calories you have, and when you enter in your foods, that you're not eating more than you should. I'm supposed to have 2500 calories a day, and I'm not hitting that mark on a consistant basis.

                Another thing that helped me in the beginning. I can't get down on the floor and up again very easily. I have to have something to push on to get myself up. My back is weak and I had a lot of pain in it back when I was close to 400#. So, when I woke up in the morning, before I got out of bed, I would do some basic stretching...leg lifts front, back, and side;
arm lifts, bicep curls; crunches etc. The mattress was a heck of a lot easier on my back, and it was so much easier to just get out of bed than off the floor. Just some ideas. I think you're going to do great! Its awesome that you're picking yourself up before you fall off the wagon. We all have had those moments where we've had to think it out, refocus, and start again. Sometimes they come every week for me. :yikes

Thanks for all the helpful posts guys. As far as exercise goes, I have been walking for 35 minutes per day usually every day (but the last two weeks have seen me miss four days of exercise and only one of those was due to knee pain). I do use fitday for my food monitoring, and it really helps. I am still usually at or around 65/30/5 but sometimes that number moves up higher on the protein side than i would like to see. As far as water goes, I aim everyday for around 180-192 oz, but I have had a few days lately that I didn't even get in 100.

As I said earlier though, this is changing. I am keeping my walking at 35 a day (I really don't have the stamina for more right now), but I am also adding some basic weight training 3 times per week.

Water is already going well today. I am already over 1/3 of the way there with hours and hours of awake time left.

Lastly, the overindulgence on some of the legal food is behind me. Now that I have truly looked at the problem, it won't be one anymore as I will keep it in the front of my thoughts.

I refuse to give up on this. I think that I didn't carb binge at all because I realized I was becoming a little unsteady on the other things and I thought if I binged on carbs, I would completely lose all sense of control and it would be super hard to get myself back on track. I also noticed that the slow unraveling of these things has corresponded to my spending less time on the boards. I think that is proof enough for me that you guys are an essential part of my weight loss plan.

Thanks again for the ideas and good vibes. I am feeling much better already.
