    Re: Starting the long journey...

A year from now you'll wish you had started today

Aren't you so glad that you started last year and not this year? Look how far you've come!!!

    It is marvelous!!

I found your thread by clicking your name and going to your profile. There is an option to view all the threads that you created and viola' I found this little jewel!!

Wow! You have a LONG train ride ahead!! Why not stop in Tennessee since you're going so far away from home?

Well, you are sweet and a nice asset to this board!!

Hope you're having a great evening!!

      Re: Starting the long journey...

Hi kat ~ Thank you so much! I think YOU are just wonderful...

So now we are thinking it isn't going to work out to take the train. We just can't figure out transportation from the the Amtrak station to my uncles' town. And we don't want them to have to drive us; it is an hour and a half to their town and at weird hours of the night. So we might just have to fly afterall. I really dread flying; especially with a toddler!

Everything is going well today. I have been exercising like crazy. Totally not like me at all. I workout six days a week!!! And this is coming from someone who was definitely a couch potato for a very long time. I don't care for sweating very much. Hee hee. But i am doing good with it.

The only situation here is that this weight loss couldn't be moving slower for me... I have been working so hard for over a month now and not much is coming off. Especially with how much i weigh right now ~ you'd figure that with how much i am working out it would be just falling off me! Plus, i am on extended induction - no cheating - i just don't get it. Anyone have any advice? I am so sick of being in the 230s.

Okay, that is enough from me tonight... how is everyone else doing? Seems kinda quiet around ADBB today...

        Jenna,

The train ride would be sooooo much longer than a flight. That might be one advantage to flying. I wonder if you can rent a mini-van or SUV at the airport and the family just drive out themselves?

With all that you do I bet the inches are coming off. Are you still measuring?

You may want to consider just moving up one rung (OWL) -- to veggies. All you do is add five more carbs of your Induction veggies making your carbs go up to a max of 25 per day. It is really filling and may boost your metabolism. You can use a calculator to figure out where you may need to be calorie-wise, but a quick method is to just make sure you're getting anywhere from 1,400 - 1,700 calories per day. If you go too far below, your metabolism will slow down due to what I've heard called a "starvation mode". It could also be just time for you to move up the rungs. Remember, you can stay on each rung as long as you like. I stayed on Veggies for one week, but Dairy for three weeks so far. I was going to sit here until I hit my first mini-goal -- then move up to nuts.

If you decide to use this thread for your journal, you could ask one of the moderators to move it over to the journal chat forum (you will probably have more people drop in if you were over there).

Well, I hope you have a good day!

Our little ones are birthday buddies!!! That is pretty cool... my Luna is now a little over two and starting preschool on September 5th. I am so excited for her ~ but nervous about how i'll feel on that first day!

Kat ~ My plan is to start a journal chat when i am down to 50 lost... i think i'll probably just start a new one. Start out fresh, you know! I think you might be right ~ i should be moving onto OWL soon. My board-buddy, Sarah, and i decided to stick with extended induction until September 1st, and then re-evaluate. I am definitely going to move to OWL then. I don't want to burn myself out. I am doing okay so far, but i think you are right, Kat, i might not be eating enough. And with the amount of exercise i am doing, i think my body just needs more. So i'll be working on that.

Down a half a pound yesterday... so slow... 2.5 more pounds to mini-goal...

Thanks, Kat!!! You are right ~ when you think back down the road "oh, if only i started at such-in-such time, i could be close to my goal by now!" it makes you think, doesn't it?! One day at a time... this is for life...

We all get what you're going through! Welcome aboard! Carb addiction is hard for people to understand, especilally if they have never struggled with weight. When I compare it to other addictions, then they get it. Would you offer an alcaholic a drink? NO Would you offer a smoker, one cigarette? NO Then don't offer me one bite of carbs! One bite will ruin my WOL!!!
