  • I just 2-miles WATP!!!

After only a week of exercise I finished 2-miles WATP for ABS!!! (Trust me, this icon is moving better than me right now!)...LOL I'm so excited. I didn't think I could really do it, but I wanted to see what it was about. It was TOUGH! Even her professional people were groaning a bit and saying they could feel it, so I didn't feel so bad that I was struggling. Wow. It feels good to have gotten through it, even though I couldn't do all the movements really well!

This feels like a milestone! YAY!!!!

You know what's funny about you saying that? I've always wondered if I was meant to be a runner because I've had dreams of running for YEARS. It's one of my few recurring dreams. I could almost say my ONLY recurring dream.

In my dreams, when I'm running I always feel so free. It's always the most liberating, exhilarating feeling. But I've NEVER been a runner--even wasn't I wasn't grotesquely overweight.

The closest time I've ever come close to being a runner was when I was working out with a friend at the track, and we were doing laps. I was tired, but I kept going, and when I finished my lap, I had the strangest feeling. Like I was floating on air or something. The air was so light, and I could breathe so easily. You would've thought I would've been having an asthma attack (especially since I'm a severe asthmatic). But I didn't. It was the strangest feeling I'll never forget.

Well, I am jealous of that feeling becuase when I run, I end up feelnig like my lungs are being crushed by an elephant and my throat burns and I can't help but want to vomit. And we are talking 2 blocks here.

Wow, I haven't done the 2 miles for Abs but I have done her Express and her 2 miles and it doesn't matter if you don't do all the moves, just go at your own pace. I got to the point after about 6 months, that I was jogging along with her cause it got to tame. Also, after awhile I couldn't staand to hear her talking over and over again so I played music and kept up with her.

Dreams are very powerful things... maybe it was always your hidden dream to feel that free... with running that is. I notice that when I go around the track the first time without stopping I get a runners high where it feels like you could just go on forever! Maybe that's what happened to you! But anyway... Good job chickie!

Just a question.....walk away the pounds....hmmm...is it walking outside or in front of your tv??? Sorry to be stupid, but we might be behind on the exercise in Denmark...
I just can't imagine walking in front of my tv?

                        Re: I just 2-miles WATP!!!

Congratulations on you two miles. I have most of Leslie's tapes but Abs isn't one of them. I've wanted to try it so I think it's time to make a new purchse.

Elmark- Walk Away The Pounds are videos that you do in front of your tv. It was a hard concept for me to grasp since I'm an outside walker. I got them and thought it was going to be easy but it's not. Movements are added like stepping side to side, going forward and backward, and adding arm movements. It doesn't take long to learn the moves. Walk and Kick is my favorite but it is not good for a beginner.

Thanks for explaining....if it was a tape or a cd I could listen to while I walked and it told me to do things, it would be fun, but I can't imagine walking in front of my tv!!!

                            Re: I just 2-miles WATP!!!

For me, WATP is powerful because it takes away any possible excuse I might come up with to get out of exercising! LOL

I don't typically get outside to exercise a lot. It takes a lot of effort for me to want to go out and be with the bugs.

                            SOLUTION: WATP

I don't have a lot of time to workout.

                            SOLUTION: WATP 15-minute mile workout.

I think the (for ABS) series just ads a stress belt to your waistline, but I bet most of the movements are similar cuz I do sidesteps, kicks, kneelifts, etc. She is just wearing some kind of resistance belt.

I got her 1, 2 and 3 mile all on ONE DVD from Ebay for like $10 bucks. It was brand new. They have a ton on Ebay.

By the way, THANKS FOR THE CHEERS EVERYONE!!!! You'd swear I just ran the Boston Marathon...HEHEHHE
