I've noticed a few people have their mantra's in their signature and I really like them!! Especially LC_Dave's, I used to use that one too and then forgot about it for a while (I recycle my mantras lol).
I have a few for myself that help get me through the tough times, and wondering if anyone else out there has any they use to fight temptations or negative feelings?
Here are a few of my "mantra's" or things I repeat over and over until I feel stronger...
When I want to eat something, like french fries for example.. I tell myself "in a few minutes they will be gone anyway and they'll be nothing but a memory.. Just pretend you already ate them.."
When someone tells me I "Can't have that" I tell them "yeah.. as a matter of a fact I CAN have that - I choose not to though!"
Another one for temptation.. "what will feel better, eating that or getting on the scale tomorrow and seeing [Insert tomorrow's goal weight here] on the scale?"
For exercise when I'm really tired.. "Just get your shoes on and do 15 minutes.. I can do fifteen minutes!!" (I always end up doing more, it's just getting going that is the hard part!!)
Or I tell myself "The hardest part of exercising is putting your shoes on!" (ie.. the decision to exercise is harder then the act itself)
Anyway I would love to hear any mantras or "self talks" that people tell themselves to get motivated
