A whole lot of the excused people give are that other people will disaprove if you don't eat non Atkins friendly foods. I have found that to be absolutely not true at all. I've been on this WOE for ten months now. Since talking to my friends about it, they have made an effort to help me, not hinder me. I've noticed that at pot luck dinners, there are sandwich meats, bread, and cheese set out on the table instead of finger sandwiches. Barbeque was the main dish at the last party with sauce on the side. One of my friends made jalapeno slices wrapped in bacon. That is so tasty I make it for weekend breakfasts now and then.

My husband is a consultant and travels frequently. The waiters in different restaurants are more than happy to work with him to create Atkins friendly meals. He's also a black belt in karate and takes the opportunities when traveling to train at different dojos. The support he's recieved for sticking to his diet when eating out after training with "the guys" has been extremely helpful. He has never run into a situation where someone has been insulted over what he does or does not eat either in his business life or socially. He's often praised for noticibly losing weight when he comes back to a client site after a month or six weeks which is also a nice boost to the ego. People like seeing other people succeed.
