    Re: Whispers, behind closed doors.

You would think that eatting fish, chicken and vegetables would be the perfect diet for someone who just had heart surgery. Why people in the medical community scoff at the Atkins way of life is baffling to me. My Dr. told me it was ok to do Atkins for a month at a time, then switch to a diet like South Beach and just go back and forth. I have a better idea.. How about I stay w/ Atkins until I lose this extra 150 pounds, then slowly add more carbs into my diet once I reach my target weight. It has to be safer than gastirc bypass on so many levels. Since I started Atkins, I have not had indigestion. That is one of the top reasons I love this diet. I would get indigestion so severe my face would twist from the pain. Everyone always blames the steak for causing it.. Maybe, just maybe, it's the baked potatoe and bread you ate with it! Just a thought...

      Tammy,

      I don't envy your position! That's terrible!

What a wench! She couldn't even look you in the eye.

Sticking by the rule book is just 'heartless' in my book.

The so-called incident didn't warrant some sort of ultimatum warning.

Perhaps you should contact your union, and be prepared ?

Glad to see someone else say their indigestion has gone. Me, too. I used to have it all the time, sometimes I would sit up for hours at night because of acid reflux. Yet now I have none. And I even made a low carb, no yeast bread recently. Previously, scones or no-yeast breads would ALWAYS give me a pain, a really bad one. The low carb bread did not, not one twinge, eyt it is quite heavy in texture. Obviously, it was the carbs all the time that were casuing the reaction.

For the cessation of indigestion and migraines alone this WOL is worth stcking to.

Tammy, I know where your coming from. There is a member right here on our board who read me the riot act when I told her that I was on Atkins, I don't know what changed her mind but she is now at goal. LOL
I read Dr Berry Sears books and he while de doesn't go as far as recommending Atkins, (who was a friend of his) he does tout no starch/sugar flour, etc.
