    I am so glad thatyou are going to stick it out- when I went for my first weigh in at the doctor's, I got so excited- she was excited too! But she did say this:

    when you stall- and you will, do not get discouraged- just eat and exercise and drink your water. There are 2 kinds of fat cells you are burning- white and brown. The white ones burn off fast and the brown like to stick around. Eventually you will start to lose pounds again- concentrate on how your clothes fit. My doctor is really good at stating the facts, while remaining encouraging...you know that the weight will come off- 18 pounds of it already have!!

    Good Job sticking to your guns!

    re-starting atkins: 4/28/09 - 220.7 pounds
    current weight as of:
    goal: 168-175 pounds then we will see if I need to lose any more.

    **well...I had a cheat, after a great start- and I'm starting again...just because I owe myself a clean slate.

        Ok, not to be mean, but didn't they tell you to focus on measuring yourself and not weighing yourself.

          Hi confused, I'm glad to see you're sticking with it!

          It's important to focus on all of the positive things that Atkins can give you. Weight loss is just a bonus. I think to myself, "If I never lost any more weight, would I quit Atkins?" and the answer is a resounding "**** NO!"

          Why???

          I have more energy than I've ever had before.
          I'm not addicted to flour and sugar anymore.
          I have learned what actual HUNGER is, and I don't feel guilty feeding it!
          My skin, hair, and nails are sooooooooo much healthier!
          I can run 8 miles now and not keel over!
          I am finding out what foods are "safe" for me to eat, and which foods cause my agony.
          The foods I'm eating let me build sexy, toned muscle. A lot better than that carby crap I used to eat.
          I have NOT HAD A SINGLE MIGRAINE since I started Atkins! And I used to get a few per month!
          I don't have mood swings or over-the-top emotions because I'm coming down off a sugar-high.
          My PMS/TOM symptoms have almost COMPLETELY disappeared!

          The list goes on and on. I still hop on the scale as much as the next girl, but THESE are the real reasons I stick with atkins.

              It's just frustrating when you decide you want the weight off and it isn't happening the way you expect it to. In my mind I'm just wasting time on atkins when I could be losing. I know 18lbs is alot. I knew a stall is expected, but I thought since I had so much weight to lose I wouldn't see it as soon as now. I thought probably 6-8 weeks.

              I have been on my water and exercise and take 1 multi vitamin a day (no iron). I'm not constipated. I'm just holding on to blaming TOM. I like to do that anyway. hahaha.

              I haven't been checking the inches. Seems like I'm so focused on the pounds, that I don't care about inches. I know I have dropped 1 dress size and probably 2 since my pants almost came down on me when I had handful of change in them. But they were stretchy pants and even still one size down in those same pants are having the same result for me.

              I haven't really been hungry and if I have I eat properly. Even when I don't want to eat breakfast, I grab something else. I thought maybe bacon was doing it to me so I stopped eating it last week and nothing has changed. It was low sodium anyway. So I guess I can start eating that again.

              Ok, I'm sticking with it. What could it hurt to eat good for my body, nothing.
              Thank you. I guess I needed some encouragement about not wanting to quit since I could have just stopped it and never to come back here.
              Hi Confused.. I am glad you are thinking more positive today I am so glad we each have our down days and not all of do it together.. so that others can encourage us... You don't know how many times yesterday I wanted to just grab my daughters chocolate Easter Bunny and eat it. But I didn't.. and I was rewarded this morning with a Whooshie I have to keep telling myself it took me about 17 years to get where I am in weight.. Its not going to come off over night and remember how good I feel

                Oh my gosh Terry I was cracking up at this comment...lol Cause the other day I measured and I had to get my daughter to hold the friggin tape on my hips cause it kept sliding off...lol

                  I upp'ed my exercise and today I got a nice surprise.

                  Last night I had to wait for the eliptical since they were in use and booked for the next half hour and thought, let's just go home. But no, I did my weights and sat there for about 10 minutes drinking my water and the other people didn't show, so I got to use it asap. Did 25 minutes and felt like I just won a championship fight as I was leaving the gym.

                  I wish I could meet each and every one of you and give you a big ol' hug and a thank you. It was looking grim the other day and each of you helped me more than I could put into words.

                  Oh and Scooter, I'm making "Scooter sausage" tonight.

                        LOL!! And how frustrating was that for you before she helped out?! I'm glad you had a helper. My cat just looked at me like, "Forget you! Deal with it yourself!" heh heh!

                        I'm still not sure if I did the hip one right. Oh well, too bad... Got my own method of madness.

                                Everytime I see your before/after pic it makes me think "That is the exact body shape I want." Except I need to know how to grow a few inches at 30.
