• TEAM 5 The Amazing Shrinking Women

Hey I just saw the teams list and thought I would start the Team 5 thread.

Any suggestions for a name?

Remember the challenge is:
"Your job is to encourage the newbie, support him or her, and help in anyway you can." The team with the who has lost the most (all members not just newbies) and has the most "newbies" still on Atkins and still active after 6 months are the winners.

I'll start the introductions. I'm 47, female, married, kids, grandkids, 5'3", started atkins Nov 11th. On Dec 23rd I weighed 350lb. Back in November my weight was off the scale which maxed out at 350. I think I was around 365 ish. I know I've lost 26 inches.

Goals for 2005:

Stay on Atkins, complete boot camp, start OWL but keep carb level very low.
Exercises daily ( I have dogs that need to be walked)
Drink my water, write in my journal, support my team, lose inches and pounds.

I won't set a goal based on x pounds lost. I always fail when I do that. I have to do this one day at a time. Maybe when I feel more secure in my ability to lose I will be able to set more goals.

Hello mamadee730, collielove, runawaymichelle and low_carb_2005
:wave
Oh - and Pesi too :wave

I am married, no kids and 55 years old.
I have lost nearly 100 pounds since June last year (though not by the book properly till I found ADBB in April this year) and still have about 40 pounds to go so have started on OWL.

I am only losing a couple of pounds (if that) a week now but am not too worried about that as I am sure our allocated newbies will more than make up for my snail's progress with the help and encouragement we will be giving them!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I had a good day today, except for water :anger . I'm only one bottle 2 of 3. I'm trying to drink 3 - 32 oz bottles a day. :yikes I just have to keep it on my desk with me or I don't drink it.

B: 2 slices ham with 2 oz mozza cheese rolled up and mic'd until hot and bubbly
L: 2 cups salad with 1 cup garlic shimp with 3 tb cream, 2 tb butter, & 2 tbl parmasean cheese
D: 3 porkchops & 1 cups green beans with 1 tbsp butter

I logged my food in Fitday. It says I had 70% cals from fat, so I need to cut back on this. www.fitday.com I've discovered that it is easier to search by food types instead of the global search.

As I am typing this my ring keeps spinning. I think my fingers are thinner!! :joy
