      It is now, Marji

Most of our team seems to have dropped off from posting on the board but I have seen Michelle about in the last few weeks.

If any others of you are about do check in to say hello!

        Hi, Elizellen,

How good to hear from you right away! Your new photo from Oct 05 is wonderful. Have you consistenly lost your weight since you began? Two weeks ago I was almost back to the 205 pounds I was when I visited Dr. Atkins in NY in Dec. 2003. Well, not quite, but I weighed in at 188. It would not have taken long to get back up. In May 2004 I was down to 134 and my goal had been 120 by the end of the year. Now I'm hoping and praying that *this time* I'll make it. Although I lost 14 pounds and was 173 this morning, my massage therapist didn't see a difference. I was really disappointed. It is so easy to get disappointed.

        Thanks again for being there.

          Hi Marji
Glad I was around to welcome you back!

I tend to stay around one weight for several weeks (often fluctuating up and down a few pounds) then lose a few pounds over a couple of days, ending a pound or so lower than my previous lowest weight. But when I look back over my fitday figures I see I have lost an average of 0.89 pounds a week over the last year (it wont go back any longer than that)
          Edited to add :
correction - since 14th July this year I have lost a total of . . . . . 2 pounds!! (just looked on my fitday history!!) Hadnt realised I had been that slow recently

It's funny - now I am getting close to my goal weight (about 12 or so pounds to go to the arbitrary goal I chose when I joined ADBB) I really am not worried about how slow the scale is moving - I know I will get there in my body's own good time.

I am just starting on the Starchy vegetables rung of OWL but often I dont think to add any extra new foods - too comfortable with my daily menus I suppose.

All I have had new on this rung so far is a spoonful or so of shredded carrots when we ate at a 'little chef' (motorway-type restaurant).

Up till now I have picked them off the green salad and left a little pile on the plate when I have finished the 'chicken fillet strips and bacon salad - hold the chef's dressing and can I have some mayo on the side' which I usually order there.

I know how frustrating it can be when we know we have lost weight and no-one notices but hang in there - you will soon be getting those comments I am sure.

since you last posted the board has had a few changes - for the better I think. I dont know if you have seen the 'Second Time Around' forum (STAC) just above the CC one?

The regular posters there are a supportive and lively bunch who have all been on Atkins before and so have lots of advice and encouragement to give to others like you and them who are having to restart the WOE for many reasons, so do read and post there too if you have time!

You are doing a grand job so far - have you decided to go into OWL or stay on induction for a while longer?

            Hello everyone!

I have been out of commission for a while due to having two surgeries within a months time. I am now 9 weeks post hysterectomy and doing great. I finally broke the 200s and weighed in at an all time low of 195. I then inched back up to 203 due to not being able to exercise and all the fun of post op. I am now back on track and restarted on Sunday at 203. Today I weighed in at 198, so hopefully its back on track. I hope everyone is doing well.

                Dear Elizellen,

"I really am not worried about how slow the scale is moving - I know I will get there in my body's own good time."

And I am still fixated by the scale. It is terrible how my mood depends on whether I have lost anything or stayed the same or gained.

"and left a little pile on the plate when I have finished the 'chicken fillet strips and bacon salad - hold the chef's dressing and can I have some mayo on the side' which I usually order there."

                I do the same.

                No, I haven't, but I'll check.

have you decided to go into OWL or stay on induction for a while longer"

I have stayed on Induction and have been so five and a half weeks. The weight has not constantly gone down, but overall, it's moving down - but sooooo slowly.

Thanks - as always - for your support.

                  Hi, Ashlie,

"up to 203 due to not being able to exercise and all the fun of post op."

That has been a big problem for me for most of the past year! I just started exercising again yesterday with the stationary bike and hope that will help me. I hope you continue to stay back on track and are doing well.
