  • CC Roll Call Friday 12/28/2007

    Good morning all. Hope everyone is well and ready for another low carb melting day. What's everyone got on the agenda for today?

    1. Gym 2. Grocery shopping (final Christmas function Saturday) 3. Possibly take my boys to the movies.
    40 year old male 6' 3"

    What I know:
    1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
    2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
    3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
    4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

    Good morning all! Well, I just gone done with my grocery shopping and walk all at once. It might annoy the cashiers some, but it's the closest thing around here to "mall" walking that there is. So a few of us do kind of a cart jaunt on cold days when walking outside is miserable or hazardous. Made a doctors appt for my car, and in about an hour from now, I'll be off to bed You all have a great low carb day!!





    290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

      Hi CC'ers,
      It's a take it easy kind of day for me. Since being away from the gym I really haven't been getting my exercise in so I'll probably take a walk this afternoon. Walking is my least favorite exercies but it'll be nice to get some quality time with my dad too because I know he'll want to go with me. I have 2 days left at my parent's place and then I'm headed back home. Hope everyone enjoys their FRIDAY!

        Morning Everyone

        I dont know whats going on with my husband and me. We have both seemed to completely stall in the second week of induction and I am very discouraged . I made sure we werent getting extra carbs anywhere and we have been so good about not cheating I just dont get it, and to make things worse I am wanting to smoke so badly. I feel like giving up.

          Good morning everyone! Suga-Don't give up hon, be a victor and not a victim to your cravings. Stick it out, our body goes through so many changes during this woe and wol. I remember getting discouraged so many times but I stuck with it. The scale is our worst enemy at times. The tape measure is our best friend. Have you measured yourself lately? You may be happy to see yourself shrinking better with the tape measure than the scale at this time. I use to be a smoker, I'm proud of you for taking the steps in quiting. Your healthier for it! Hang in there hon, you'll get through this day. Just take baby steps and imagine the new healthier, thinner you, that you're becoming. I'm proud of you!

            No! Don't give up. If you're sure you are doing everything right, and not eating extra carbs, the weight WILL come off. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was SO COMPLETELY discouraged because I'd had a perfect week with tons of exercise and I actually gained a pound. BUT the next week I lost SIX pounds. It will come off. Just keep doing what you're doing and the scale will start to move. Just as an extra precaution you may want to post you and your husbands menu on the "Review my menu" board. All the veterans will critique it and may find something you're eating that you shouldn't be. Just don't give up. We're here for you!

              Don't give up & don't get discouraged. I'm with Sherri on using the tape meausre vs the scale. As you can see in my siggy my weight loss isn't massive compared to some members but I have lost an amazing amount of inches!!!

                Suga, everyone is right don't give up, hang in there and everything will be fine.

                I used to be a compulsive weigher. It would drive me crazy if I thought I had a great day, but lost no weight or worse was up a little. I now force myself to only weigh once a week, same clothing and under the same circumstances, I think it helps weed out some of the day to day changes our bodies have.

                The not smoking has to be tough, but when it's all over you will be much happier.

                You can do this, heck you are already doing it!!

                  Good morning! I had a doc appt (check-up) this morning. BP 100/70; labs normal. Amazingly enough, my doc office never weighs me. Go figure!! My thyroid results were normal....even though I feel like falling asleep all the time. He said it would take a year for my thyroid to shrink. He doesn't want to up my meds....doesn't want to make me hyper (vs my hypo). Oh well, this too shall pass.

                    Today is my moms's 50th birthday so I am going to go out and buy her a present with a card. Also, I have to go to work, where I am at right now, and then I will go home and probably make dinner, play some games with the kids, maybe watch a movie and go to bed. I know that the excitement is overwhelming.


                    This is the second time trying Atkins and hopefully this time it will be a permanent life change for me.
