  • Century Club - Springing Into Action!

    Hi all Century Club members!

The Don’t Wait for 2008! Challenge was a huge success. Together we lost an amazing amount of weight in only 50 days. In an effort to keep up support and motivation within the Century Club community I propose another challenge! Who’s with me?

If you have 100 or more pounds to lose then you are a Century Club member and free to join this challenge. Here’s the challenge:

The “Springing into Action” Challenge will be a combination weight-loss and exercise challenge. We will each set a weight-loss goal that we hope to meet by the start of Spring… which is March 21st. We will also pledge to do a certain number of minutes of exercise during this time. You can choose to do any type of exercise but just track your minutes of activity and report them here throughout the challenge.

The challenge will begin on January 7th and end on March 21st. This gives us 75 days (11 weeks) to really shed some pounds!

Here’s how the challenge will work:

    1) Sign up here if you want to join the challenge.
    2) Let us know your current weight and your spring goal weight in your initial post.

    3) Decide how many minutes of exercise you will pledge to do during this challenge. We have 75 days (11 weeks) for this challenge so consider this when making your pledge. Let us know in your initial post.
    3) Check in here regularly to let us know how you are doing. Post your weigh-ins at least once a week as well as how many minutes of exercise you did for the week.
    4) I will track everyone's progress as you post your successes.
    5) If you check in regularly and meet your weight-loss goal and minutes pledged for this challenge you will receive a special reward to post in your siggy at the end of the challenge.

YAY! I'm really excited about this challenge and hope some people will join me. Let’s start out the new year as LOSERS!

    Okay, I'll go first.

My current weight is 330.7 pounds. My goal weight for March 21st is 305.7 pounds. That's a 25 pound loss!

I will pledge 2,650 minutes of exercise during this challenge. I am a member of Gold's Gym and will be taking advantage of their group classes... I particularly like groove, kick, power, and interval.

I can't wait to lose some poundage during this challenge!

      Great Challenge Liz-I am in.

Current weight is 308, do you want us to weigh in on or about January 7th?

My goal will be 25 lbs. (283), I will pledge 4950 minutes of exercise (90 minutes-5 days a week). I will be using Weightlifting, Elliptical, Treadmill, Stairmaster and Brazilain/Gracie Jiu Jitsu as what I count.

Let's see how many CC'ers we can get to join. Even if you only do ten minutes a day, it's worth it!!!!

        Hi,

My weight is 330lbs and this is my first day on Atkins. I plan for a 50lbs weight loss by March 21st. I will exercise at least an hour a day, which will be about 4,500 minutes. As I lose more weight I plan to exercise more as I want to resculpt my body.

Hey Bluebelt! YAY, I'm glad you're joining the challenge again! Great goals!

And yes, let's post our starting weights on the 7th since that's our official challenge date. You can adjust your goal weight if need be then. Sorry, I wasn't thinking when I went ahead and posted my starting weight last night. I was just so anxious to get started!

Welcome to the challenge SBCT! I look forward to getting to know you over the next few months as we lose, lose, lose! Good luck on your first day! Is this your first time doing Atkins or a restart?

You guys aren't kidding on pledging those minutes of exercise! I might have to step up my minutes a bit.

Thanks! I have tried it before but never followed the book or did it right. I have gone through the whole book and prepared myself and family this time.

Well that's good, because that's the first thing everyone on the ADBB will ask... do you have the book and did you read it! lol It's great you joined the ADBB too. You will find so much support around this place.

Re: Century Club - Springing Into Action!

This starts the 7th right? I think I have the flu, so I hope it isn't today!!
Starting at 263#. Going for about a 1.5 pound loss per week, so say a goal of 246#.
I may up this when I'm feeling better, but since I feel like a limp dishrag right now, I'm pledging a whopping 990 minutes of exercise....I think that's 30 minutes per day, 3 days a week, but my brain isn't working, so correct me if I screwed that up.

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

Hey Chicklady! Glad you decided to join. Yes, the challenge starts on the 7th of January. I figured this would give everyone a chance to sign up and start out on a Monday. If you lose more by the 7th I can update your starting weight. And yes, you did the math right. I'll put you down for 990 minutes.

I hope you feel better soon!

Ugh!! I'm so angry. I just typed my goals and this flippin, crypto computer erased it. Ok, I'm calm now.

I pledge 1000 minutes (Lord help me) and 15 pounds. I just bought a new scale which says I'm at 207.2 (in line with my Mom's) because my other one started giving me different weights (204.5; 205; 205.5; 206; and 209). Hot mess!! This new one stayed stable (even after waiting 10 minutes and weighing again). I'll weigh again Monday to let you know my official starting weight!

Thanks Liz for doing this. You're awesome!!

Scales are such a nuisance. Mine weighs me differently within 2 seconds of stepping off and back on again! I've learned just to step on once and take what I get.

I should have done that, then I'd be 204.5.

Okay, Liz, I'll join your Century Club challenge once again, and this time, I'll work hard to go DOWN instead of up.

My goal is 185 pounds (which is the same as my Don't Wait goal!). I'll let you know my current weight on Jan 7 as I'm hoping it will be firmly (back) below 200 by then. My exercise commitment is 3,000 minutes.

                              Thanks, Liz!
