  • Overcoming the obstacles.

    I have once again thrown myself head first off of the band wagon... yuck! I endulged in pastas, sugary treats, and carby delights of all kinds. I avoided the scale at all costs for a whole month terrified of what the numbers may reveal. Although I was enjoying these foods whilst I was eating them I started to notice that my energy level was far more desolate then usual. I couldn't sleep without the help of sleep aids, and my self esteem had dropped considerably.

    I never realized how much this WOE had helped me in the long run. Before I started this month long binge I weighed 232 lbs. About 2 weeks ago I decided that enough was enough. No longer was I going to harm my body the way I was. I realized that I DESERVE to be healthy AND happy. I stepped on the scale to see I had gone up to 241 lbs!!!! I was so upset. I shook it off and did what I had to do. Once again the first week I felt like a truck hit me... or better said "Induction Flu". I haven't weighed myself until today to see that I am down to 231 lbs. I have more energy then ever and find it so much easy to smile. I feel absolutely amazing all around. (Although AF has me a bit on edge ha ha ha )

    This WOE is wonderful. I missed everyone so much on here. You guys are my life supprt and my idols! So I pledge to do everything by the book and always stop by for a friendly hello and start supporting everyone as much as you all have supported me!

    Hugs & Kisses!
    Stephanie =)

      Hey Stephanie... been there, done that. Good for you to re-start with Atkins. Sounds liek you are really determined. Falling off, is okay as long as we immediately hopp-on again. We're only humans. It takes time, to overcome bad habits, that we used to live by for most of our lifes. Just take it day-by-day foodwise - but focus on the goal longterm. Great to have you here.

        Re: Overcoming the obstacles.

        Welcome back Stephanie! Sometimes life's hard lessons are best for us in the long run. One thing I was thinking after reading your story is that it's awesome that you had your realization when you hit 241, not 303 or more! Look how far you've come already (since September if I remember your siggy correctly). Thank God that not all was undone !

        Good luck on being in ONEderland by your birthday. Have you signed up for the Fired Up For Fitness - Century Club Challenge yet? You should join.

            Glad your back I know that feeling. I did the same thing for about 1 1/2 weeks in March. The important thing is that you climbed right back on the wagon!

              Hi Stephanie-Welcome back, unfortunately you had to learn a lesson the hard way, but it seems like you are back on track and kicking butt.

              Just remember we are all here for you.

                    Hi Stephanie!
                    From the looks of it (and assuming that 87 is referring to a the year of birth) we're about the same age and we have the same height. Although you have more weight to lose than me, I often feel like I belong in here... I only have 70 pounds to lose, but what's 30 more pounds? It never made a difference to me in the long run, because 20 pounds to my ultimate goal I always gave up and chalked it up to, "well, i'm close enough that I can eat sweets now."

                    I really get forward to seeing your progress, since we're similar in those regards =) I guess it'll be kinda like watching myself.

                      See I was definetly thinking of lowering my goal weight to around 140 but I didn't want to upset myself if I couldn't make it. So, I made my first ultimate goal to be in at a healthy BMI which would be 160. Which is just the brink of a healthy BMI at around 24.

                      It's just so terribly hard to get under 200 it's driving me mad! Only 32 lbs to be under 200! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

                        Hahaha! Oh don't worry, even though 140 is my ULTIMATE goal, I definitely consider just being able to shave off of 180, let a lone 160 a huge achievement (it's just not written down yet :P), and I'll probably award myself by going out and doing something nice for my newly achieved body =) Massages <3 Pedicures <3 etc <3
