Thank you Chick , I'm hoping the berries work well. I woke up this morning and actually felt stronger for the first time in a long time. I checked my blood sugar level this morning and it was up and in the zone it should be before eating which is very good (I guess that's why I'm not feeling like I'm going to faint).

I haven't checked in for a number of days so I wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone...I've missed you all very much and think about you each morning and hope everyone is well.

I've been recently dealing with some medical set backs so I have had to slow things down in the exercise routines.

Due to these set backs and the nature of some of my health problems, I decided today to climb the rungs earlier then I planned....so I am now at the berries rung as of today to try to boost my immune system. I had to skip the dairy and seeds/nuts rung due to massive food allergies to them. I have to admit I am VERY nervous being at this rung but time will tell how it goes. I just hope I don't end up going backwards and stalling or something like that. That would put me in a bit of a tail spin I think. So, today I had some blueberries. I have been resting more and trying to regain strength.

I will try to add more of my routine back slowly next week...but of course that depends on how I'm feeling.

It turns out my blood sugar level is very low as well so adding the berries will help I'm hoping. I am not diabetic, never have been....it appears I am the opposite where my blood sugar level is not high enough so on top of dealing with an immune problem, my blood sugar level has been quite low and I've been feeling very weak and light headed.

So that's how things are going for me and why I haven't been around.

I lost another 2 lbs. (I think from the last time I checked in) so I hope the weight loss continues.

        Hugs to all!

        Hi there Sarina,
I agree with Chick, the berries will help! You're Hypo-Glycemic, the opposite of Diabetic. Atkins is an excellent woe for Hypo-glycemia. Too bad your allergic to nuts because they would help with the hypo-glycemia as well.
If I remember right, you eat small meals throughout the day which is recommended for people with hypo-glycemia, to keep your glucose levels at a steady level.
Your body is adjusting to your weightloss and your new body size. It's good that you slowed your pace down to allow your body to adjust.
Great to see you posting dear!

          Good morning Sherri!!!

Yes, I'm thinking the berries might help as well. I didn't realize I was hypo-glycemic really until recently. I was hitting 3.6 & 3.8 readings which are very low....sometimes 4.1 but mostly between 3.8 -3.9. I have never been diagnosed as hypo-glycemic but it is something I have spoken to a doctor about yesterday and a few pharmacist friends of mine who advised me that my blood sugar level was really too low. This morning when I woke up before I ate anything it was at 5.1 which is a good improvement. It says before you eat it should be anywhere between 4.4 - 5.5. No wonder I'm feeling much better this morning!

I have been fighting an on going bout of oral thrush for weeks now as well which has made me feel quite tired. I tested my probiotic yesterday and so far so good, it hasn't bothered me like the last two times I tried it so I think that will help this thrush problem. I know they say not to eat fruit when you're fighting something like this but the way I looked at it yesterday was either my blood sugar is raised to the place where it should be so my body functions properly or my body continues to stress out (which is not good for thrush) and I continue to try to fight the never ending thrush issue.

I have to find out how much berries I'm allowed each day on this way of eating...I haven't got a clue. I tried to find it lastnight in the book but I can't seem to see anything that tells me....are you allowed 1/2 a cup, a cup each day??? I just don't know.

Anyway, didn't mean to be long winded....just thought I would share a bit more.

I had all the intentions of continuing to check it, it's just been a bit difficult recently...I missed all of you!

Thank you so much Sherri, this is most helpful!!!!!

Looking at the list, I think I ate to many blueberries yesterday ....maybe I'll skip them today unless I am feeling weak.

Thanks again Sherri, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this!
