            Re: Thursday 29/01/09

Had one of those hungry nights after dinner, but already had good percentages, and almost 1900 calories, so I didn't want to snack on anything. Hated it. Kept drinking water, and kept getting up all night. Need to read up somewhere again, on appropriate approximate calories for Atkins weight-loss. Isn't it like up to your weight X 10? (ie. 250lbs + 2500 calories?) And adjusting as you lose? And I was under that. I had lot's of fat, so I was surprised that I was so hungry. It hurts sometimes to think about everything so carefully

Well off to do my good work on the elliptical. Have a lovely day everyone.

Is it your weight x10? I usually eat 1300to 1500 cals, according to the fitday ( I am not counting cals mind you) and when I started I was 360 pounds.. I do not get hungry or anything, so in order to eat approx 3000 cals, I would have to get stuffed..
So we need to get something like the above calorie-wise while on Atkins??

I dunno.. I need to do some reading, and searching the forum. I was pretty sure that I read that, but don't take my word for it pleeeease! I usually run between 1300 and 1700 calories. Seems like I read that the body needs enough fuel to burn the fat, or somesuch. I could have eaten another meal last night, but usually I'm fine. I'll try and find out later.

                    Good morning, CCers!

I'm less than one pound away from ONEderland and it's very exciting. I'm less than two pounds away from being halfway to my goal (exciting and daunting at the same time ).

My one year anniversary is less than one month away (I was actually off plan for about 5 months of the year). It's been a great experience overall. I'm sure I'll do a celebration post or something soon on one of these topics.

Have a great controlled-carb day everyone.

Thanks Clogger! U too Hey Kellen, yes you need to eat in order to burn. If you eat less, then your body "shuts-down" its metabolism.. i.e., burns less calories.. Where, when we do overeat, our bodies..well, we all know.. I believe the key to go is to eat till you feel ok..not stuffed or overeat, just to find your limit.. but maybe this x10 your weight is like a rule of thumb..who knows.. thank you for looking that up

I've averaged 1967 calories a day over the past 15 months. however, i've had days of 11, 12, 1300 and i've had days of 2900+(tend to be days when I make pork roasts or steaks...I LOVE pork fat)! I seem to go in "clumps" too.....a few days kind of on the low side, followed by a few days right up there and then repeat the cycle(lather, rinse, repeat ) I also do tend to lose my weight on the low days, and the high ones keep my body from thinking I'm going into starvation. Just worjked itself out that way!
